I'm brand new here; this is my first post. This is also the first political exchange blog I have ever joined. I'm a 71 year old retired professional pianist/composer/arranger/producer. I am extremely conservative in my political ideological persuasion, - - but I absolutely do not demean, disparage or ridicule others who hold differing views from mine. I do not curse or use coarse language. I'm a fairly decent sort, all things considered. I'm very set in my ways and in my mode of thinking, - - which should perhaps be expected of a fellow my age. I'm happy to be here. I hope to interact with you fine folk in a cordial, considerate manner, - - - even if I express very unpopular convictions, perspectives and opinions.

I'm sure our resident left-wing nut-jobs will change your stated behavior. It's hard to pin some of them down, but I think they do it on purpose.

Being someone older and more wise than me I automatically defer to your judgement but will vehemently argue for the more liberal point of view.

In my five months at DP, the forum has become a reliable source of interaction, open for the most part 24/7. Members come in all flavors and participate at their own pace and in their own way. I have felt disdain, indifference, and deep respect for the contents of various posts. I can honestly say for the time being I love DP! Welcome.... and feel some Love!
