Greetings and salutations, my name is Snailmusk, and I've come here to get into the tumultuous rigmarole of politics.

Over the past year or so, I've gotten really interested in the subject, but haven't really studied it formally or informally, and I've been swaying back and forth politically for months.

I learn best in a social setting, hence why I thought coming here might be a good idea.

Let's see how many angry people I make. :p

I love it when people show up desiring to learn.

It is certainly possible to do so here.

WELCOME

You've probably got priggish grammarians on edge with that one.

But welcome none the less.

I just joined this AM.

I haven't quite yet figured out how to deal with the forum clutter.
But we'll see how it goes.

In any case S #1, thanks for joining.

Visit often. Post a lot.

Splendid.

BUT !!

Learning is a process from the external to the internal (taking without giving).

Teaching is a process from the internal tot he external (giving).

I'm not eschewing learning.

But I endorse learning and sharing alike.

Welcome both snailmusk and sear.
Enjoy the forum and remember no matter what the subject is I am always right and anyone who disagrees with me is in denial of reality.
And expect the same attitude from everyone else.
Seriously some of us are super decent folk such as Maggie, others are like me

Churchill, the right leader, at just the right time!

Thank you Q.

I've been current events messaging for decades.

That's about the most candid and useful welcome I've ever seen.

I too am a Churchill fan. You may know these already, one or both apocryphal. BUT !! Amusing none the less:

"I am enclosing two tickets to the first night of my new play, bring a friend... if you have one." -- George Bernard Shaw to Winston Churchill
"Cannot possibly attend first night, will attend second... if there is one." - Winston Churchill, in reply

Lady Astor said to Churchill, "If you were my husband, I'd poison your tea."
to which Churchill responded: "Madam, if I were your husband I would drink it."

At least it seems you have a realistic view of how things can get heated. That said, keep a thick skin and learn what you can, from anyone you can, even if you don't like the person.
