"Separation of Church and State"

No. The notion that "Thou shalt have no gods before me" is somehow the first of the commandments, along with bearing false witness and idolotry, versus other humane things, proves your faith is full of ****.

Does the silly liberal prefer the Roman Gods who enabled military conquest, rape, plunder, slavery or the Christian God and his great commandment: love thy neighbor??

. The enlightenment was not based in christianity, at all, by any sense of the definition.

are you capable of learning or will your grotesque liberal prejudices always prevail????

"I have examined all religions, as well as my narrow sphere, my straightened means, and my busy life, would allow; and the result is that the Bible is the best Book in the world. It contains more philosophy than all the libraries I have seen."
~John Adams to Thomas Jefferson, December 25, 1813.

the liberal can read it and weep! See why we say liberalism is based in pure ignorance?

The Common Law and Civil Law Traditions - Berkeley Law
https://www.law.berkeley.edu/library/robbins/CommonLawCivilLawTraditions.html
By the late Middle Ages, these two laws, civil and canon, were taught at most universities and formed the basis of a shared body of legal thought common to most of Europe. The birth and evolution of the medieval civil law tradition based on Roman law was thus integral to European legal development.

The enlightenment is the root of this country. Not your hideous religion. Dominionist ideology is a fraud.

There is nothing Christian about this country. Ever. Sorry. You lose.

Dominionist ideology is a fraud.

Ask the amalekites and midianites how they enjoyed the loving administrations of your god.

I want none of it. All religions are evil. You would have this country, secular and founded in the enlightenment, utterly destroyed by your sickening theology.

You, sir, are my enemy. I know you well. And I will always oppose you.

Actually the Enlightenment was Christian!!!!!!!!!!!!

"And while we could debate Montesquieu's understanding of Christianity, Islam, etc., the point I am trying to make is that Montesquieu, and the founders who quoted him, believed religion was as indispensable to republicanism as were the separation of powers (also a Montesquieu idea). And several of the founders actually appear to agree with Montesquieu's belief that Christianity was the best fit for their republican experiment:

You've done it again, Jimmy; failed to give credit to the author of the words you have posted.

you mean a typical liberal anti American could argue that the great Christian commandment: love thy neighbor, is odious!

you seem to struggle with it you wanted to lock me up for what iv said on here

good, it is my Christian duty to oppose ignorance, illiteracy, and genocide

well if u want to start could you send your god over to chat

Does the silly liberal prefer the Roman Gods who enabled military conquest, rape, plunder, slavery or the Christian God and his great commandment: love thy neighbor??

how about neither and treating you neighbor's how you would want to be treated because that encourages people to treat you better in return?

That's the argument cavemen used.

"I don't understand the world around me, so it must be god."

That's why you have mythology. To explain a world you're incapable of understanding. What elevates mythology to religion is government.

The fact that we don't have the technological capability to know what came before the Big Bang is not reason to ascribe it to a god.

I guess you're not capable of understanding that Matthew and Mark relate conflicting accounts of a certain event.

Jesus allegedly cast out demons, who subsequently inhabit a herd of about 2,000 pigs who either run down a steep slope or jump off a cliff into the Sea of Galilee.

The problem is Mark claims it was only one man, and the town where he claims it happened is 30 miles from the Sea of Galilee. Matthew claims it was two men, and the town where he claims it happened is 5 miles from the Sea of Galilee. The geography is such that there is no slope or cliff.

To resolve that conflict in part, the King Jerk Vision claims it happened in a different place that's about 9 miles from the Sea of Galilee.

If your gospels were truly god-inspired, then both men should have told the same story, and it should have happened in the same town, and your god should be smart enough to understand the geography of that region.

But, apparently, your god isn't that smart.

I understand your supposedly benevolent god didn't tell the popes that there are no witches.

There are no demons, either, but the idiot Jesus thought there were.

Glad you admitted it is a violent religion.

Morality doesn't require god or religion.

Why didn't Jesus tell his flock something that was not known to humanity at the time? Everything he said was knowable, there was no new information in his messages at all. For instance, while telling us all about being good to each other, he could have interjected with a useful tip "My father accidentally made germs, viruses, bacteria that can and do kill you. We recommend boiling your water, setting up sewage treatment plants, washing your hands before surgery and making sure the rat population remains small". Or he could have said "If you travel west past the Pillars of Hercules you will find two vast new lands filled with people and riches, go forth and spread the Gospel". He might have said "It is very useful to create a standard clock, a decimal number system with a zero in it and to figure out a way to copy books quickly using a printing press". But he didn't did he?

The enlightenment is the root of this country. Not your hideous religion.

you have already learned that Enlightenment was Christian?? Truth doesn't easily overcome prejudice does it?

"Let divines and philosophers, statesmen and patriots, unite their endeavors to renovate the age by impressing the minds of men with the importance of educating their little boys and girls, inculcating in the minds of youth the fear and love of the Deity...and leading them in the study and practice of the exalted virtues of the Christian system."
~Samuel Adams

There is nothing Christian about this country. Ever. Sorry. You lose.

So what God were our founders talking about???? You have to get over your prejudice!!

Ask the amalekites and midianites how they enjoyed the loving administrations of your god.
.

so???? it hardly negates the basic Christian teaching, love thy neighbor as thyself, which created love and civilization on the planet after 1000's of years!

how about neither and treating you neighbor's how you would want to be treated because that encourages people to treat you better in return?

tell the liberal school shooters and murders that and see if it works better than the promise of heaven or threat of eternal damnation in hell! See why we say liberalism is based in pure ignorance?!

Why didn't Jesus tell his flock something that was not known to humanity at the time?

he did!!! he said love thy neighbor as thyself and spend eternity in heaven or ignore God and be condemned to eternal damnation in hell.

you found some liberal school shooters what they weer super into gay rights legal abortion and regulated industry with highest taxes for the wealthy?

and enlightened self interest should work better then fairy tales of sky cake and a magical sky daddy who will spank you forever

iv seen what people hooked on bribes and threats like that can do

Christianity's great commandment is "love thy neighbor. Only a Nazi would find that hideous.

but the god you push dosent love people it hurts them forever if they don't serve it and that's just the story your selling in reality you want to lie to others to manipulate them into acting as you wish them to

if you dont love your neighbors why would converting others make them do it?

he did!!! he said love thy neighbor as thyself and spend eternity in heaven or ignore God and be condemned to eternal damnation in hell.

no threat from the gods weer already a thing

some one who wants you to show love isn't going to torture people forever not if they value love

and if you cared for other people you would not be ok with torturing them

you just push lies in the hopes it will get you what you want

which is stupid because everyone else can create ther own lies to suit themselves just as you have

he did!!! he said love thy neighbor as thyself and spend eternity in heaven or ignore God and be condemned to eternal damnation in hell.

You really think that was unknown or unknowable at the time?

You really think that was unknown or unknowable at the time?

It's a moral as old as humanity itself, stolen by christian crusaders and used for their own purposes. This idea is hardly unique to this religion.

This entire nation is founded on the enlightenment. Period.

It is a theocratic idea to restrict speech and relegate individual liberty to a backwater as the laws of the bible are anti individual.

There is nothing christian about our founding or our foundation or our morals. Period.

.
This entire nation is founded on the enlightenment. Period.

this is true, and it is true that Enlightenment is Christian. You need to get over your prejudices in order to accept this. Here is 3rd quote to prove it for 3rd time.

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever."
~Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query XVIII, 1781.

You really think that was unknown or unknowable at the time?

of course, had it been known Jesus would not have been necessary. Before Jesus we were Romans who believed in military conquest, plunder, rape, slavery and Coliseum entertainment where innocent people were eaten alive. Now do you understand?

no threat from the gods weer already a thing

obviously is the love and wrath of God had already been a thing, Chrisianity would not have been necessary or even introduced to restart time from year 0. Seems like you have 0 education?
