Well the assholes did it.

Took away Liberty from the citizens of Canada. Just like in Australia, UK and NZ.

A few years back the sonofabitches had a firearm registry so they know where to send the thugs.

Shame!

Hopefully the citizens of Canada won't allow this tyranny to happen. This is what you get when you elect stupid Left Wing assholes like Trudeau. A lesson for this country.

Police said the gunman had several semi-automatic handguns and at least two semi-automatic rifles, one of which was described by witnesses as a military-style assault weapon.


"These weapons were designed for one purpose, and one purpose only, to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time. There is no use and no place for such weapons in Canada," Trudeau said.

There's still places where they don't have customs guards.

It diminishes all people when Liberty is taken away from some people.

The shooting range that I frequent has several Canadian members that are snowbirds. Good people. I hate to see them be the subject of government oppression.
 
The right to own or not is the in the power of the government selected by We the People.

No one has a God-given right to have an AR-15, a pistol, or whatever, unless charted in the law.

I wasn't aware that a question was an opinion, I thought it was a question, which is why I used an interrogative sentence as opposed to sentences that make a statement, deliver a command, or express an exclamation. For future reference you can usually identify an interrogative sentence by the tell-tale "?" that appears at the end of the sentence. That little squiggle is what is known as a question mark. Get it? Had I been giving you my opinion, I'd have used a sentence that makes a statement. A declarative sentence. Which again, for future reference is usually finished off with a "." at its conclusion. That little dot is called a period.

Perhaps you should become "un-educated" and then you too will know basic, simple, 4th grade level grammar and I wouldn't have to supply you with the knowledge that for all intents and purposes, you have shown to be lacking.

Some dude writing about a creator in the declaration of independence isn't evidence, especially when the church had a habit of ex-communicating open non-believers. Don't believe me? Try to get a bear to respect your "right to life".

At any rate, you seem terribly confused. Canada is not bound by the US constitution. If they want the right to bear arms they need to put it in their founding document.

It really is quite silly for you to make a big show of getting worked up on their behalf, all so you can chest-pound about your alleged love of "liberty".

You seem to be really confused.

Liberty is endowed by the Creator and the Bill of Rights says what the despicable government cannot infringe upon. In the case of the right to keep and bear arms it says very clearly that the asshole government can not infringe upon that right.

Liberty denied is a crime no matter who does it. Canada, the Third Reich, Commie California, North Korea, etc

Shame on Canada. They know better.

I suspect the Canadians are not going to be ******s like the Aussies, Brits or Kiwis.

They didn't comply with the filthy ass registration laws a few years ago and won't comply with this oppression.

I don't own any guns. I don't mind if others do. People like to hunt. Buy a hunting rifle. Want protection for you, your family or business? Buy a handgun. Just be kind enough not to point them in my direction.
I've read stories about potential victims thwarting criminals, usually with a handgun.
My question is this - when will I see the headline that states "Homeowner kills18 intruders with AR , saves family"?
AR headlines are never positive.

This ban was done by order in council, not by legislation. If the minority Trudeau Government falls within the next two years then this decision can be easily reversed. While I agree with the restrictions in principle, I do not think it should have been done this way. There will likely be many court challenges to this. The rifles in question should have been placed in a new and more restrictive legal category requiring training, background checks, character attestations and special licences and FACs with regular reviews. That, or existing guns should have been grandfathered unless the bearer was deemed invalid by legal decision.
