The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been told by Canada’s biggest national newspaper that they are not welcome there as members of the royal family.

In an editorial that undermines the assumption that the couple would be welcome wherever they chose to live, the Globe and Mail has announced that the Canadian government should tell the couple: No.

I fail to see how the advent of this royal couple on the Canadian scene will help anyone, including their royal selves. They should pick instead another former British African territory or perhaps the South Pacific islands known in former times as the Mandates.
 
They should move to the developing world. Make a difference there instead of some castle.

Well that's where I'm going and what I want. So I think it's a good idea for them. I think it's a good idea for everyone. A migration of developed world educated to the developing world to reverse the brain drain and finally own poverty. One can't fix what one doesn't own.

I'm no monarchist, I 'm not anti-monarchist, I don't care one way or another about royalty, but looks to me like the whole point is they'll go where they want and flip a couple royal fingers at the newspaper's, now that they can.

Well then, that's it..

I've been to Canada a 100 times, at least, I always found the country and people very welcoming and nice. Even after I retired I made it a point to go to Canada for vacations. I love it there..

I'm glad I don't read Canadian newspapers.. Tough crowd.

It's not really supposed to 'help' anyone but him and his family.

Yep. The UK royal family needs to move out, so I can move in and begin my worldwide empire.

While the editorial writer has the freedom to say what he/she wants to, I don't think he/she accurately reflects the feelings of millions of Canadians. If two People want to live part-time in Canada, I say that's their business. They have deep enough pockets to pay for their own enhanced security here so as long as the Canadian taxpayer does not have to foot that bill, I say bring on the couple and let them live in peace and a modicum of tranquility.

There was an interesting bit about that, that a survey, across every political, race, sex, religious line in Canada, the vast majority say one thing for sure, Canadians should not pay anything for anything to do with their time in Canada.
 
That Canadian newspaper is so right!

The Duke and Duchess would be shocked if they knew how many people could not care less about them.

Few would be shocked if those two pains in the neck eventually go their separate ways and he returns to England in order to savor once again the bowing and scraping that he supposedly dislikes so much.

For goodness' sake! So many people in England are having a hard time earning enough money to barely subsist, and yet all this time and effort and money is being spent on those two spoiled ingrates!
 
Canadians think they are better than everybody else anyway. Harry and Meghan will fit right in.
