Huawei moving US research center to Canada

BEIJING (AP) — The founder of Huawei says the Chinese tech giant is moving its U.S. research center to Canada (Toronto?) due to American sanctions on the company.

In an interview with Toronto’s Global and Mail newspaper, Ren Zhengfei said the move was necessary because Huawei would be blocked from interacting with U.S. employees.

Company is the No. 2 global smartphone brand and the biggest maker of network gear for phone carriers. U.S. authorities say the company is a security risk & has put sanctions on it.

Well, at least it will make arresting and detaining Huawei CFOs alleged to have committed fraud somewhat easier! No more waiting for extradition requests from the US Government perhaps?

But why when the only suggestion they pose a security risk is coming from the same agencies the current U.S. administration completely ignores vis-à-vis the same concerns raised about Russia?
