#Wexit

I really do like you.....but, for your own good - I'm thinking, I might have to put you on ignore, Nate.

Man, when you go off the rails, you really go careening off! You've lost control! You even went to other threads!
As a friend, I've got to help you from yourself.

Do what you gotta do, Tos. But one last friendly bit of advice, once again for your own good - you're not allowed to tell someone you're putting them on ignore, I've gotten infractions in the past for doing that. Don't worry, I didn't report. Feel free to edit, I won't rat you out.

Just look after yourself, lady...and like I say, maybe give this stuff a break. Whatever you've convinced yourself of, in terms of what down here, you're off the rails. I hope you work out whatever problem you have outside of this that is causing you to come so completely unhinged, and I look forward to arguing with you under friendly, saner conditions in the future. Get well soon.

I didn't know that's against the rules. Thanks for the heads up.

Anyway, I'm not saying I'm putting you on ignore.
I said - I'm thinking that I might have to. And I've explained why.

I really don't get why you say that I'm "unhinged." All I'm doing is debate, like I've done so many times on various subjects!
I didn't follow you around bringing this "baggage" in other threads, have I?
If there's anyone who've lost control - that would be you, wouldn't it?

Oh well, that's your opinion - what more can I say?

Ciao.

I didn't know that.

Anyway, I was saying - I'm not saying I'm putting you on ignore. I'm thinking about it.

Well, I hope you don't. Things get heated, people have bad days. I haven't given up on you, Tos...but again, do what you gotta do. As much as I like you, I'm not in the business of letting my ass get kicked for free... ;) You wanna kick my ass, be my guest...you just need to be right. If not, well...best to get the ice pack ready, because my boot can generally be counted on to find it's mark. :)

I'll leave you to your decision.

Well, I didn't want to kick yours, or anyone's ass.
I'm just discussing/debating - and have been effectively able to support my arguments!

Lol, if that's how you view discussions in forums - kicking ass - my goodness! That's a very negative and hostile mindset, isn't it?

I was right with this one though. I know that you know that too...…... that I'm right with my arguments.
You know one telling sign from you? You start getting personal.

Yep...…... dead give away, Nate. :)
Like they say - you've lost the debate battle once you start getting personal!

A Wexit group has formally applied to become a federal party. It has a desire to act like the BQ party for Alberta.

Now if it can last, predictions, the first election will be of limited success for it, the second a reasonable break through in support, but would of course on a national level cause a collapse in the Conservative Party. By the third election, the national conservative party and the Wexit Party (with name change by then) will merge.

Alberta conservatives do not like losing politically. They started the Reform party, then it merged with the PC party on a national level. In Alberta when a second conservative party formed, the Wild Rose Party, it split the vote with the PCs, leading the NDP to win. So the Wild Rose and PC party merged, forming the UCP.

Now something regarding the Alberta mindset (generalization based on living here my whole life)

Albertan's in general have a mythology about the province and the people here. That we are hard working and the wealth in the province is because we worked hard for it, and had governments that made great decisions that allowed private business to thrive. No one likes to say that the wealth is due to the oil and gas industry, or that our governments (provincially) with few exceptions have been piss poor at managing the wealth generated by the oil and gas industry. We ride the booms, thinking how much superior we are to other provinces saying they need to cut taxes (while ignoring the fact our taxes have been low because of royalties from the oil and gas sector), then complain about alienation when the boom ends. It is a pattern that is repeated over and over again

If Alberta was truly great at managing its oil wealth, it would have taken up the Norwegian model.

Most definitely

After Lougheed Alberta leaders were idiots in general
