This is how you treat allies

I agree. It was the right thing to do, even if undeserved.
I almost hate to say it but I wouldn't be surprised if the US backs off from the extradition request, tossing Canada under the bus.
I saw a brief report on the news this morning that a Canadian ex-diplomat has been arrested in China. This might snowball.

Yes, agreed. It is problematic. Keeping one's word often is. I hope you're wrong, but nothing surprises anymore.

Stop yelling at clouds, old man... ;) Canada has always had a tight relationship with and a pretty good standing (other than during the Harper years) at the UN. Given the migration patterns of folks around the world, this makes a lot of sense: shared intelligence, best practice sharing, there are all kinds of benefits gained from working together.

I'll leave the sky-screaming for the American Democrats.

I don't mind people coming here through our normal immigration methods.
What I do mind is these "refugees" who are costing us tax payers to house in hotels and food.
I also mind "refugees" who are hurried through the system, given a license to drive large vehicles, who run stop signs and kill whole hockey teams...ya that bothers me a bit too.

Well Canada seems to disagree, Trudeau keeps climbing in the polls and the Conservatives fall.

Ya by the margin of error.
And after this tweenkie move...it'll drop.
He's as much history here in Canada, as Macron is in France.
"Dead Duck" comes to mind.

hehe...brother... Offer to have a beer notwithstanding (and not retracted), you gotta stop with the generalizations based off of the worst examples when you're talking to me, you should know by now I'm not convinced by them.

Besides, if you've ever driven on the 401 east of the city, you know the most dangerous truckers aren't the foreigners, it's the white guys with Quebec license plates. ;)

It is far larger than the margin of error. Trudeau has the support of Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, that is all Trudeau needs.

Ya I've seen what goes on between Toronto and Kingston.

It's not really a generalization to say these refugees are living in hotels at the tax payers' expense.
And IMO anyway, what happened to that hockey team in Saskatchewan should bother everyone.
They were kids Nate. That could have been my kid...were he playing Jr in Saskatchewan.
We can't be rushing these people through our systems, just so the numbers look good.
People die that way.

But beer? Hell ya! You know I love my beer.

We will see...

Canada arrested Meng Wanzhou, CFO of Huawei Technologies, when she changed planes in Vancouver, responding to an extradition request from the US.

The US alleges she violated sanctions against Iran. China is furious, cancelling a meeting between it's ambassador and the House of Commons foreign affairs committee. Canada and China have been negotiating trade matters, and that will certainly be affected.

The prudent thing to do might have been to delay a phone call and miss the opportunity to arrest her. It would definitely have been the 'Canada First!' move.
Omigod! Horrors. A DIPLOMATIC MEETING got cancelled.
