Canadian conservatives appear to have their own Anthony Weiner. I cannot being to tell you how giddy and sick to my stomach this makes me. I have despised Clement for so long; he is nothing but a rat fink smarmy bastard and I am elated he got kicked out of caucus. So that makes me giddy. The sick to my stomach part? There are compromising videos and pictures of him somewhere in cyberspace. Yuck. I'd rather look at an erupting ass boil.

Scheer had said earlier Wednesday that Clement was still a member of his caucus, despite his disappointment with the MP's actions, and that he believed Clement when he said this was an isolated incident.By mid-afternoon, shortly before question period, new developments had made Scheer's previous position untenable.
"I took him at his word that this was an isolated incident. Since then, there have been numerous reports of other incidents, allegations, so in that respect I've asked Tony to resign from caucus so that he can respond to these allegations," Scheer said.

Good! Kick him to the curb and do the same to any Liberal, NDP'er, Green, etc. who acts in a similar way. It is time that our elected and appointed leaders take full responsibility for their own actions and their actions made on our behalf's. Acting like a horny teenager at Mr. Clement's age and putting himself in a position where he could be blackmailed and made a security risk to Canada was stupid in the extreme. Cheating on his wife further illuminates a lack of good character and honesty which is too often displayed by our leaders. We need women and men of good character (no matter what ideologies they subscribe to) who can be relied upon to make ethical and correct decisions on our behalf's and not with power-pervs using and abusing cellphones while acting like adolescents in hormonal overdrive.

I hope more like Mr. Clement fall from all parties and factions.

Cheers.

Back in my political days, I got to meet Orville Kennedy, who was a back-room architect of Alberta's Social Credit days (he was retired by then). He said that Social Credit had a culture for its elected officials: "Do not do anything in your personal life that you would not want splashed in the newspapers". Social Credit ran Alberta for 40 some years. Still controversial policies, but not too many scandals in that time.

Shortly after Mr. Lougheed took power, a new cabinet minister was seen cruising around hooker avenue in Edmonton. Lougheed sacked him from the ministry. Sent a strong message. Mr. Lougheed governed for 14 years without much scandal.

Good on Mr. Scheer for sacking Clement. But methinks there were probably signs that this should have been done a long time ago.

We need a system where nefarious individuals are either not elected or do not rise too high.
