One of Trump's campaign promises was to change disadvantageous trading practices that involved other countries dumping their products on the American market. This has nothing to do with Putin.
 
When talking about trade imbalances with France, Canada etc why is it never brought up that many US companies are investors, partners or outright owners of manufacturers in those countries and contribute to the very trade deficit Trump speaks of?
The profits are returned to those companies - eventually, after idling offshore for a while.
Jobs at HQ and warehouses etc are held by Americans.
Deals are financed by American banks adding to the profit picture.
Let's see an example broken down by a legitimate economist that shows how it really works.

We abandoned tpp, iran, and paris--all things that were our idea.

We slimed nato and the un--both of which were our idea.

We slimed our neighbors to the north and south.

We slimed the EU, perhaps our most steadfast ally.

And we have embraced dictators from places like russia, turkey, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, china, and north Korea.

Difference is, they have an actual rational person to get behind. We have a reality show personality who will do anything for ratings. I think the rest of the world understands TDS quite well.

If I were Canadian, I would not necessarily advocate for this form of stronger bond to hold a "diverse" peoples together. First and foremost I would, however, support a stronger glue to hold Justin's gorgeous eyebrows onto his unfurrowed brow. Sorry, its just too funny to let it go...it might fall completely off otherwise.
