I did not expect to wake up to this headline this morning. Globe and Mail article here.

Looks like the party asked him to adopt the opposite approach of Roy Moore and has decided to step down leaving the Ontario PCs leaderless, despite having an election in 5 months. Looks like the PCs are going to continue their trend of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and I would imagine this hands Wynne the election on a silver platter. Another high-ranking member of the PCs also resigned. Has a party ever gone into elections with an intermin leader?

What a plot twist so close to the election.

I don't think anyone should lose their jobs or be denied a job based on allegations. Its setting a dangerous precedent of if we want to get rid of someone then just make a bogus accusation. Now if the accused was found guilty in a criminal trial or on video admitting to assaulting his or her alleged victim then that's okay firing the individual or asking the individual to step down or resign.

The party does not want to have to deal with it, they saw what happened to Roy Moore, they don't need that. If he did not step down voluntarily there is a possibility they would have forced him out. It is also relevant to note they are not making him resign from the party and he will most likely still win his seat. They have essentially just demoted him to backbencher till if it blows over. They are just trying to remove him from the spotlight.

Essentially it would be as if Roy Moore was replaced as Senate candidate but instead he was given a safe rural House seat.

Where does this end? And I wanna know who else smells Wynn's scent all over this?

I haven't voted Ontario PC since the Mike Harris stench.
But I was gearing up to vote for them again.
The liberals have been in power too long it's time for a change - but now what.
The PCs keep finding ways to loose - I have never seen anything like it.
Maybe the NDP will win......

I remember hearing on CBC radio once that the PCs seem to have an uncanny ability to always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but we shall see what happens.

That's a good line.

By stepping down all they are doing is telling their political opponents that if you want to cause someone to drop out of a race or resign then just make up allegations.

Well more information is coming out now. Apparently these are not exactly recent allegations, only publicized. Similar allegations have apparently been made for years even before he became leader, as an MP he had a reputation of partying with younger girls and bragging about it which lends to the credibility of the allegations. It also did not help the image that his entire staff also resigned.

Wynn must be stopped at all costs!

Soooooo...

The accusations made against Brown were...horse kaka.
What did I say...This stinks of Wynn.

You 'MeToo-ers' got anything to say? Any issues with doing your social dog-pile thing on an innocent man?
Perhaps some regrets about such a blatant abuse of your social justice bullsh1t?

No...I wouldn't expect cream-filled fu%kin' tweenkies to have any REAL morality or backbone.

You say that like there's somebody else who cares about, what was his name again? Head of the Ontario conservatives, right? Who cares who leads that party along the road to irrelevance.
Just out of curiosity, what was he accused of?
