Here, take some advise:

By all of which you could in fact be addressing the manner in which this thread (better said it's attack) is being presented.;)

Ridiculing or mocking in public, is a form of attack.
She should've known there'll be backlash if she attacks the beliefs of others, or attacks people for what they believe. She better be prepared to be attacked likewise.

Re: Our Very own Space Cadet: Juliette Payette

What about it? What is "supposed," about it? Why don't you explain.
You're free to make of it whatever you like, I'll let others watch it (if they so choose) and let them decide for themselves.

The rest of your post being just what YOU think is to made of it all and clearly your wanting to impose your interpretation onto everybody else.

Well, you can try but others will think exactly as they see fit.

Re: Our Very own Space Cadet: Juliette Payette

Create your own thread, and mock whomever you wish.
This thread is about the controversy over what our Governor General had publicly ridiculed - and the
backlash from it. She is the subject.

Yep, and idiots are upset she mocked them for being idiots.

The Eleventh Century called; it wants the people who escaped from it back.

What person wouldn't be offended and upset, for getting mocked for what she/he believe?

We have the right to our belief - and certainly, the Governor General has no business publicly mocking people and that right....... and deliberately - and mean-spiritedly - offending them.

She is a loose cannon - this space cadet.

Oh, you mean the person who is far more accomplished than any idiotic creationist around?

I don't really care if idiots don't like being mocked for being dumb.

Perhaps you should live in the real world if being called out on the idiocy of your beliefs hurts you so much.

Well, I didn't see her mocking the religious (contrary to what some of those appear to be wanting to believe), primarily she was advocating for a level of knowledge and learning that would befit the country in the 21st century and have it move on in there, rather than (the insinuation being assumed) returning to the 17th.

Climate change, as one of the issues she addressed, may be a topic of controversy in some houses of government (the White House for instance) but in most Western ones it isn't, least of all in the House of Commons.

Astrology, voodoo medicine etc., the demand appears to be that if she says something about those at all, it had better be praise. Or otherwise self-gag.

So some people feel offended, so tough. So some people demand that she now step down, so tough on that too.

So many people are upset when their pet fantasy doesn't get treated like a special snowflake. Must be tough for all those anti vaxxers, horoscopers, new age whatever's and creationists; not a clue between the lot of them. But then again, that's why they see comments promoting the advance of scientific knowledge as an attack on them.

Ridiculing or mocking in public, is a form of attack.
particularly to those who get indignant over little.
She should've known there'll be backlash if she attacks the beliefs of others, or attacks people for what they believe. She better be prepared to be attacked likewise.
I don't know her personally, nevertheless I'd assume that somebody who gets to go to space and gets to be governor general isn't likely to be bothered much by mosquitoes.

So I guess you'll have to put your hopes for her demise on the back burner.
