Walking to Canada

I was being semi-serious. ;)

Well who knows, I am sure people on this forum like truthatallcost really do believe there is no extensive process in becoming a refugee.

This is the very reason why taking and encouraging mass immigration from broken countries is actually retarded.

If you siphon the "cream of the crop" from places that are forsaken backwaters and take all of their intelligent innovative people, how in the hell do you EVER expect that country to recover or become better?

Well most refugees want to return to their home country if possible.

Forsaken backwaters? We're siphoning the cream of the crop from the US. You get the rest back.

I'm not referencing just the US.

Right so they never want to solve any problems but are more than happy to reap the rewards of problem solvers.

Great people.

We'll take the cherries and cream and the rest will be returned to the safe country they came from. They don't qualify as refugees, coming from the US.

Aren't you the same Grand Mal who is constantly telling us Americans here that we should take in refugees?

Well here's your chance to do your part. I think you've said that you own farm land, why not hire some Somalians and let them stay on your property while they work?

Refugees are a drain financially speaking, but they usually don't present a huge crime problem for the US. Its the children of refugees, and immigrants in general who present the crime problem.

Minneapolis now has a problem with Somalian gangs who deal drugs and prostitute underage girls. The gang members are the children of immigrants and refugees. They're also Americans legally, so there's absolutely nothing that can be done about them, besides the old white flight method for dealing with the fall out from liberalism.

Yes, we are. The ones that qualify will be accepted, those that don't will be returned to the US.

Under, the present agreements with the US we cannot return them to to the US.
The safe country agreement (Canada -US) where refugees apply in the first country the arrive in- US /Canada does not apply to land entry.

A person can arrive in the US illegally, and cross the border by land, as we have seen in MB, they are then subject to our rules and are processed thru our refugee/ immigration system.
And they cannot be deported back to the US.
Land crossings were exempted under the agreement between US/Canada. Why, I do not know.

Thanks, I didn't know that.
I wonder if the refugees did?

What about whites, blacks and other gangs? Does not fit your agenda.

They do, reason why they did not apply for refuge status in the US. If they did apply in the US then, not sure the safe country designation would apply as they applied in the US. Maybe - not sure on that tough.
Now Mexico is considered a safe country by Canada. Other countries are not considered safe by Canada. So consider if we have thousands showing up in Canada applying for refugee status.

"The most recent figures provided by law enforcement are 46 percent Hispanic/Latino gang members, 35 percent African-American/black gang members, more than 11 percent white gang members, and 7 percent other race/ethnicity of gang members."
https://www.nationalgangcenter.gov/Survey-Analysis/Demographics

By 2050 the USA will be majority Hispanic, and gang membership will be required for protection, just like in prison.

17% today, and in what, 33 years they'll be over 50%? How on earth do you think that can happen in two generations?

I do believe that is a choice we are making, not sending them back to the country of origin. However since the election of Trump, an underground highway has sprung up leading African nationals to a crossing point in Manitoba in Lake of the Woods Country. They have not named the point, but it appears to be close to the Ontario border. They are African Nationals. The fear is that the US under Trump will send them home, where the males will have an arm or a leg chopped off, the women circumcised as punishment for leaving.

Under normal circumstances its a no brainer and the go back to the country of origin. However the refuge claim is that Trump will ship them home Canada Border Services is recognizing that as a legitimate primary claim to be investigated. It does not matter whether they walk, swim, or come by boat....but it won't work if they arrive by plane as the airline is then responsible.

The last I heard there had been three infant deaths on the road to freedom and several toes and fingers lost to frostbite.

It has been running on CBC one all week. There is one man who lost his foot, many others fingers and toes; lost to frostbite - they have no concept for cold and do not realize you can die from it.

A...hello?

Canada as of this writing has taken in 64,000 refugees from Syria alone. The not yet great again US has taken in 2,500.

The refugees we are talking about here are risking their lives to GET OUT of YOUR country.

something to be proud of, that an African national has to risk freezing cold of the north to get away from you...

You don't know the half of it until you step on the ice with a hockey stick in your hands.

I can see it now, a Canadian hockey team comprised entirely of Somali refugees. Y'all could make a movie about that.

I dunno. Remember that movie, 'White Guys Can't Jump!'? Up here we say, 'black guys can't skate!'.

Not true, of course, at least not anymore. But it's hard to imagine a more jolting culture shock than going from Somalia to Manitoba.

It'll happen. My government has said that there are 11 million illegals for the past 15 years. They either don't know or don't care what the actual figures are. The Census bureau has been busted for faking data results in the past, as it did for Obama in 2012.

What sort of time frame are you using for this comment? The US took in over 13k Syrians in 2016 alone.

Really!?!

Wow, and here I thought you all were so open and accepting of "refugees." :liar

Aren't these people fleeing the horrors that they have faced under our current regime? :unsure13:

Haven't you been one of those voices from the Great White Northern wilderness decrying the terrible plight we must be living with here under President Trump?

Now you think you can pick and choose who you want to come?

Hypocrisy, thy name is Canada. ;)

Canada needs food for the starving polar bears.

Ghana?

I don't understand refugees for Ghana which is fairly stable as I understand things.

I used to work with a lot of East African including Somali no issues with them
