Damn ****'s catching! :(

Alexandre Bissonette, a Laval University student, was known on social media as a far-right troll who "...was someone who made frequent extreme comments in social media denigrating refugees and feminism." He apparently was inspired by a visit to Quebec by Marine le Pen, leader of the French far right party, National Front.

If this is true, I had a sense the "Allah Akbar" yells reported to have been heard were just snide remarks from these disgusting maggots.

This whole issue has brought out the worst from both sides.

Perhaps leaders should take a step back and remember who they are sworn to serve.

I can't wait for the right wingers to come here and try to spin this as this guy is really just another 'violent liberal/lefty'.

Maybe he is left handed. They can use that.

I've got this strong suspicion that those radical extremists are all the same, you could just reshuffle the deck and they'd all be right at home where-ever they were dealt.
Muslims radicalized by extremists from other countries, far-right nutbars radicalized by extremists from other countries, they're the same people.

You are probably right. There seems to be a void desperate to be filled in some people, and devious people who know what to fill it with.

I think what this shows is the power of the toxic rhetoric promoted by these far-right individuals and parties.

I liked the unexciting manner in which the Canadians are handling it.

This should be a reminder that they type of extremist does not matter. Extremism is a big problem, and pointing to just one group sells the problem short.

There's been vigils at mosques across the country.
It's not the first time this sort of thing has happened (I'm thinking of the Ecole Polytechnique shooting) but it's a definite eye-opener for us.

Yeah, what's only annoying rabble-rousing to most of us is pure poison in the wrong ears.
