Judgment Day coming in October

Please, everybody knows that, according to the Mayans, the world doesn't end until 2012

We change solar hemisphere and the stars look a tiny bit different. Because of angles and refraction.

I can't keep up with all these damned dates. May 12st, October, December next year...I've got a busy schedule. Why can't we compromise on the rapture?

I don't think I'm really concerned about when.

My concern is: I would assume that there will be some confusion, maybe chaos, possibly some violence, etc, etc. etc. But, after the smoke clears all of the cool people are taken to where ever their going. I just hope that in the midst of all of whatever is going just before lift off..that nobody messes with the Internet, and more in particular, my Wi-Fi. I mean - since there are a limited number of tickets available to be transported to someplace else - there will still be a considerable number of us left on the planet. I would consider the Internet shutting down as a form of Hell, but I'm sure I'd get over my addiction and take up knitting or something.

Good point. I'm just hoping we get to keep one or two baristas so I can keep up on my Starbucks fix.

Judgment day will come soon enough for those who believe that Jesus gave money to the rich, told the poor to suck it up, and demanded that Caesar show his birth certificate.

Now This Camping Fool is saying it is gonna be in Oct:roll: Sat. was just an invisible judgment day and the real deal is coming in Oct. Someone please put this man in a nursing home or something:doh:(

California preacher Harold Camping said Monday his prophecy that the world would end was off by five months because Judgment Day actually will come on Oct. 21.

I always thought Judgement Day was when Palin won the 2012 elections... and that is in November next year no!?!

This "pastor" is such a misguided charlatan in my opinion. Either he's trolling for personal spotlight or he's genuinely stupid. Many Christians have specifically pointed out the very literal passage in the Bible that says no one knows the time or the hour of the rapture.

Why? I think they should be publicly humiliated.

Because they are brainwashed and I cannot help feel sad for them. Now the woman that killed her child as an honor killing? She sho7uld get death and that lady that cut the throat of herself and all her kids? Disgusting:(

He gets attention for a couple of reasons.

He's made a fortune with no formal education and created a large following around the world, of people who don't understand or know the Bible and are willing to go along with his foolishness.

Another possibility is that it's a nice change of pace in news from the usual politics the clog the air waves.

The Bible tells us we are not going to know and this old man is basing his prophecy on numbers and dates no one knows.

Most Christians would deem him a false prophet? He is a cult leader at this point and we know how badly these kind olf things can end up:(

Sure the folks are dumb to follow him but he has them brainwashed. They folks that follow this man are mentally ill.

BTW, isn't most of his money tax exempt? Or not? That right there does not seem right as this man is preying off the folks that follow him.

Another sad example of the deleterious effect religion has on society.

The ones that fall for that stuff are mentally dead anyhow. Again, public humiliation is good.

Technically, that's not about a 'rapture'. There is nothing in the Bible that talks about a 'rapture'. It's a relatively new thing, believed by a very small minority of Christians.

Yes, there is. Whatever verse (forgive my many decades) about "one shall be taken, the other left". I don't know why they call it rapture though.

If Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins are reading this forum? They are either pissed or weeping right now over your post. ;)

As well as I recall the Rapture passage was written back then by the Prophet Camping wasn't it? ;)

Negative. Oh, the word 'Rapture' isn't used exactly, although it's quite close. However the apocalypse, and the return of Jesus Christ, including, most importantly, the faithful, both alive and dead, physically ascending into the heavens is mentioned, in very explicit terms. Presumably, any Christan worth their salt should accept this, although, it is insane.
