Alright DiAnna, you know I love you, but I just have to point out that a lot of the people who have responded in this thread haven't actually read what the bill entails and have resorted to engaging in typical stereotypes of illegals. Let's take a look at just WHO it is this bill is affecting:
Maryland’s Dream Act backlash - The Washington Post
These are stringent requirements, and the state is not going out of it's way to cater to illegals. This bill has tough restrictions on just who it applies to, and it is designed to give those individuals, who through no fault of their own are undocumented, an opportunity. These individuals grew up in the state, and are Americans/Marylanders in all but name only. They have already proven to that they are high-caliber members of society and are ready to contribute to the economy. It doesn't make sense to just deport these people for something their parents did, and make them go to the back of the line when they are in a much better position to help both themselves and the state right now.
