Palin joins those balking at White House invite to rapper Common

Does anyone really care what Palin says? The woman has become more of a joke/caricature...she's fighting to stay relevant.

... and losing that battle. I do say, however, you have to hand it to her for getting 30 minutes out of her 15 minutes of fame.

I dont know this guy, never heard of him. But is he one of the rappers that degrade women in the songs? Why would obamas wife want him there? Is Common someone her kids should admire and emulate? Why do they admire Common?

I always find it interesting that the 'real'-America Palin represents.... you know... white middle class right wing protestant America... has absolutely no problem with people like Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Eazy-E, Kid Rock, Britney Spears, Jhonny Ramone etc being used by the GOP in some form or manner. However, the minute the White House invites what is considered to be one of the most socially conscious rappers in the industry to an event, then it's subject for criticism. It's because of things like this that it's good to be a leftist. You don't get bogged down in bull**** culture wars.
I think Palin represent more than your narrow bigoted view and misrepresentation.

The guy called for killing cops... that disqualifies him from a WH visit in almost every WH. Not this one though. He's a proponent of that racist Wright... strike two. But I think we know this is Obama's kind of poet; groomed by his mentor Rev. Chickens come home to roost... Y'all.

You got some facts to back this crap up?

As long as we're not paying him for the appearance I really don't care. I don't think it serves us to be paying celebrities of any kind to attend government functions right now.

Im not an obama fan by any means...but who he wants to invite to the whitehouse is on him...Im sure theres been other presidents who have invited people that others found less than desirable...theres so much to go after obama for...eh not this in my opinion

“Here’s the deal: In a Herman Cain administration, I, nor my wife, would ever invite someone to the White House that has espoused that kind of poisonous rhetoric — we simply wouldn’t have done it,” Cain said. “Does Michele Obama have a right to do that? Yes. Does the president have the right to do that? Yes. But I think it says a very bad thing.”

With the uproar over Common going to the White House, I really hope Obama just says **** it, and invites Little Jon

That he calls for killing cops.

OK he glorifies a cop killer... but no, by glorifying he doesn't advocate it... no... LOL.

Then there's that bit about Bush. I think that is what solidified his invite. That and the fact he and his homey Obama sat in Wright's house of poison Y'all.

Art takes you to uncomfortable places sometimes, but you let if flow. Common isn't evil for having a song about a cop killer. It's a non-issue, and the only reason you care is because you want to be mad at Obama.

It is an issue, and they can go to all the places they like. Some of those places will disqualify them from being invited to the WH, and might even have them under observation. But as I said, this is another type of WH. Rapping... glorifying about a cop killer and Black Panther member is they type of front the House want to make... they can do it.

It reveals more about them than the entire journOlist clan did during the last presidential election.

No, it's not an issue, he's doing a poetry thing, not rapping about shooting cops. And with someone who has alot of songs like Common, you can find anything to be pissed at. Like I said, all you want to do is be mad at Obama for something, and this is what your mad at this week.

Palin IS irrelevant, now that Donald Trump has co-opted the bat**** crazies, and taken them from her. LOL.

Back in 2003, First Lady Laura Bush held a poetry evening, and she invited several poets to reprise the work of Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes and Walt Whitman. Although none of those poets had urged violence against a president, Bush canceled the event after left-of-center poets protested and threatened to disrupt the event.

A pathetic line of argumentation.

So, if some "artist" decided to use the "N-word" and claimed he wanted to do like-kind to Obama, and was invited to the WH, the American people would think this was OK?

Sorry. That requires a major league denial of reality.

Does he glorify cop killing? Have you read the lyrics? I remember Body Count(IceT) who got accused of the same, and it was a flat out lie.
