The Need For Regulating Markets

Regulation is fine, excessive however we've seen first hand what it will do to business and jobs, goodbye.

all it should do is increase costs, thus price, and most likely cause some hiring.....
We all pay a little bit more to have clean air, safe water, etc. and some environmental workers get hired.
something wrong with that?

Never said there was. Never said regulation in general was a bad idea. However, to the extent that they've grown and increased in the US we have seen nothing but negative things from it.

Not true......
Can you list a few negative things? Specifics, please, not generalities.

Stand by, we may need to post a long list of positives to counter the list of negatives....if DontDoIt responds...

When the stock market crashed in 1929, the income tax rate was at 24%, the rich used the money to speculate on the stock market on margin. The lack of regulations and easy money was the cause of the Great Depression.

I think it's hilarious how Mayor doesn't point out that there wasn't regulation on margin calls. Apparently huge amounts of stock purchased with 10% margin is something we should go back to? :peace

The problem with self declared Conservatives (who we all know how many here are faking it) is that they hate regulation...until they get burned by the lack of it.

What is even more amusing is that the rich arguably have the most to lose from lax regulations regarding the finance world.
