DEA head: A thousand dead children means we're winning war on drugs

Up in NY they're worried about kids being killed by wiffle balls.

You see now how dangerous this is. IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU. That's right you.

Where do I sign up?

There is no sign up sheet, but the unofficial sign up is supporting those who are of a like mind, and letting your voice be heard as well. My signature has a link to LEAP. which is an organization that mirrors my mindset on the topic quite well, and is IMO by far the group most worthy of support, as well as the group who has the highest chance of making an impact with their message. :)

No I am advocating divorcing ourselves from the distractions of a manufactured criminal problem. One the divorce is in place we then double down and focus all of our resources squarely upon dealing with our drug problem sans distractions and diversions.

Distractions and diversions - what is everyone, 2 and at a magic show with Homey the Clown or something?

I support a change as well - but most certainly I don't support just legalizing things with the hopes of just ignoring one problem only to trade it off for numerous others. Right now - there are no real solutions, only meager attempts at quelling the problem and unfortunately the innocent get hurt - always - and most of the time that's children.

Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood doesn't advocate the killing of young children - attempt at trying ot make this issues into an abortion debate failed.

The only drug problem Mayor Snorkum has is that the government is violating eveyrone's civil rights because some anal creeps want to control what other people do with their bodies.

Get the government out of the problem making business and then the people who actually care, who are grossly outnumbered by the sanctimonious bastards who pretend they care for no other purpose than to interfere in people's lives.

No children younger than the unborn. Perhaps you should remain focused on the topic of the thread and ignore irrelevant one-liners?

So - what sense would it make, then, to back off now - regardless of why they're 'grown in evilness' - if we stopped, now, we would just be unleashing that larger 'evilness' o neveryone and still leading us on a path to nowhere.

Damned if we do - damned if we don't.

Except that "The Drug War" doesn't work. It generates lots of jobs, police jobs, and those jobs are hard to get rid of, but the drug war does not work. 7000 TONS of opium produced in Afghanistan last year. When we attacked Afghanistan they were producing about 290 TONS per year. Does that tell you anything. Oxycontin and hydrocodone are opiates. Gotta get rid of the 7000 TONS, eh? We control Afghanistan so we must be the producers. Do you think Big Pharma is involved?

No, the US is losing the "War on Drugs", and losing it for one specific reason:

All that aside, her assessment was correct: cartels are wounded as evidenced by their erratic behaviors.

You are aware that the title of this thread came from a headline in a liberal magazine and not anything the head of the DEA said, aren't you?

No, their behaviors are indicative of a power struggle to fill the vacuum left by the collapsing Mexican government. It's a microcosm of global politics, as China and Russia and India and Pakistan and all the other nations vie for dominance as successive liberal US presidents continue the progressive destruction of the United States.

You don't think that NAFTA policies that kill off small farmers south of the border causes them to find employment elsewhere, do you? Corporate world wide dominance, often referred to as Globalization or Privatization, seems to be causing the progressve destruction of the USA as it uses up resources and Nations in its headlong rush to Warm the World through systemic burning of all the petrocarbons it can get its dirty little dickskinners on. Also burns wood, nukes, gas, etc. The energy distribution/control network is a global octopus tickling your very own testicles or crotch, as the case may be.

On March 25, 2009, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, stated that "Our [America's] insatiable demand for illegal drugs fuels the drug trade"

To me, the obvious solution is to legalize.
