GOP Rep: I'm 'Struggling' On My $174K Salary (VIDEO)

While I can't speak for pbrauer, I think he's a liar because he's a politician. Although to be fair, he never actually said he would be willing to take a cut, simply made the argument for why he shouldn't have to take a cut.

post #26 yes he did say he'd be willing to take a cut. or wait...did you mean wouldn't?
Still, he did say he was willing to take one. Not that anyone has a choice if it's voted on. It's just really difficult to get our politicans to vote themselves a cut.

Congratulations to Scott Walker for being awarded the first “full green Truth-O-Meter” by PolitiFact Wisconsin.“For years, folks in southeastern Wisconsin have heard about Scott Walker, the Milwaukee County executive, giving up thousands upon thousands of dollars of his salary.
Elsewhere, the claim may be more of a jaw-dropper.
So now the $370,000 question: Has Walker really given back that much back?
Walker has foregone $375,070 in salary since being elected county executive in 2002 — $5,070 more than what he has claimed during the gubernatorial campaign.”Show us another politician, anywhere, that has put that much personal compensation back in the hands of the taxpayers who employ them.
Clearly, you can see why the public employees unions vilify him. Walker is a man of character and integrity, who keeps his word.

I think you just gave PB an aneurysm.

:)
I knew Walker gave back some pay, but never looked it up. It's not something the media talks about when accusing Walker of " destroying the middle class worker" and being a bully.
I bet it can't be found of a Democrat ever doing anything close to that. On a smaller scale, Boehner is flying commercial, unlike Pelosi.
I really am proud of a few of the Republicans.

is it beyond you to commend a person for doing something worthwhile without denigrating the other side?

Gee.....
I didn't expect that kind of response from you liblady. I expected something like "Wow! Way to Walker! I wish more of our politicans would follow his lead, especially my own party." Because we all know how nonpartisan you are. :)

Liblady would NEVER act like that and respond with a post that denegrates and entire group... oh (looks up at her last post)....

never mind.

I know I'm pretty much a partisan hack, but to be called on it by someone like liblady is pot, kettle, black.;)

Show me where he has said that he specifically would take a pay cut.

GOP Rep: I'm 'Struggling' On My $174K Salary (VIDEO) | TPMDC

I can guarantee you, or most of you, I guarantee that I have more debt than all of you. With 6 kids, I still pay off my student loans. I still pay my mortgage. I drive a used minivan. If you think I'm living high on the hog, I've got one paycheck. So I struggle to meet my bills right now. Would it be easier for me if I get more paychecks? Maybe, but at this point I'm not living high on the hog.
Duffy also said that he pays more in health care costs and retirement savings than he did when he was a district attorney before he ran for Congress. That said, Duffy said he'd support the idea of "public employees across the board" taking a compensation cut.
"Let's all join hands together and say 'I'll take a pay decrease, absolutely," Duffy said.A Duffy spokesperson told TPM that Democrats are trying to make the salary line into a partisan shot.

Are these people serious as they defend this guy and then forget that they called teachers overpaid slobs? Assholes. You guys are officially assholes.

Okay, this is the same guy who managed to make a career in his youth out of living in a house with strangers. Yes, Representative Duffy was none other than Sean from Real World Boston. I'm not really shocked that he didn't have the ability to live comfortably on the money. The man has what, SIX or SEVEN kids?! If he couldn't cut it on congressional salary, he might not have wanted to run for office.

Please show me a single post on this board where I called ANY teacher an overpaid slob. If you can, I'll have a mod delete my account (Redress might enjoy doing it ;)). If not, then have a mod delete YOUR account.
