New Political Ad Attacks "Intemperate" Judge Prosser

That was just harsh.

talk about a lack of context.

We have no idea if those statements match up with the video (don't pull the "i can read lips" nonsense). Does't matter if he said those things in this case. IF the video and comments do not match, it's misleading.

"I hope someone destroys you!"

I wonder what context could make that look good on a judge...

How about this:

Your ghastly crimes are beyond redemption. The needless deaths of so many innocents shall never be tolerated. And while I have vowed to uphold the law above all else, as a man, your crimes fill me with overwhelming revulsion. And while my duty as a judge and an agent of justice demands that I show mercy in accordance with the law, which I have sworn to uphold, as a feeling human being, I condemn you, and I hope someone destroys you."

I have no idea what the real context is, however.

Supreme Court Justice has been very angry lately about how his opponent manages her facebook page. So angry, that he has mentioned it the last three debates that she failed to remove a post calling him a "turd" from her facebook page for several hours.

So, to prove the absurdity of Prosser's criticism, I decided to do an experiment.

This morning at 10:40 AM I posted on the wall of Judge Prosser's Facebook page, "Kloppenburg is a TOTAL BITCH! I hope someone DESTROYS HER" (Catchy, eh?)

At 11:05 AM, or 15 minutes after I posted this, Judge Prosser checked his Facebook page and posted on the same wall, "Off to the Madison Rotary Debate..." He did not remove my ugly post disparaging his opponent, Kloppenburg.

It is now nearly two hours later... and my post is still on Prosser's Facebook wall!
Disgusting: Prosser Allows Facebook Post Calling Kloppenburg a "Total Bitch" to Stand For Hours--Even After He Checked It! | RootsWire

Now I don't even believe he said these things. Lies, I tell you. Give me a source, somebody. Anybody? This is a utube video. Is it even a commercial? Have we yet again been duped by idiots on the web??

so far, I cannot find any actual 'news' stories on the incident. All I see are blogs. However, some blogs discuss an email that was sent by the other judge or an underling, where they claim Prosser called her a bitch and said he'd destroy her. He apparently did not deny either, but did offer an explanation.

I found a link to a news story, but it wants me to pay a subscription to view it. The teaser was very unspecific, and referred to him defending himself somehow from the charge, so basically it's no help. Curiosity is up now so will try and find something better.

More: Supreme Court tensions boil over - JSOnline

As the deeply divided state Supreme Court wrestled over whether to force one member off criminal cases last year, Justice David Prosser exploded at Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson behind closed doors, calling her a "bitch" and threatening to "destroy" her.

The incident, revealed in interviews as well as e-mails between justices, shows fractures on the court run even deeper than what has been revealed in public sniping in recent years. Problems got so bad that justices on both sides described the court as dysfunctional, and Prosser and others suggested bringing in a third party for help, e-mails show.

Prosser acknowledged the incident recently and said he thought it was becoming public now in an attempt to hurt him politically. Prosser faces Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg in the April 5 election.

Take it as you will.

Pretty much all I can find are things like that. Must not have been a big deal at the time, or someone would have paid more attention to it in the media.

Look one post up from yours. Detective Redress got the dirt.

Agreed. Now if we could only get this guy named Whovian to say that about those out of context, cut and paste video jobs that James O'keefe keeps putting out there. Go get em dude, you can do it ;)

shame you don't comprehend the difference between selective editing (O'Keefe), and this ad. Do you know for a fact that those videos in the ad correspond to the statements in the graphics? If so, please enlighten us with your sources proving it.

You're comparing apples to oranges

I think this ad is much more legitimate then the other one (about the priest allegations). Prosser having a temper isn't really something that would bother me, but I realize there are people that it would bother and if it affects their voting decision they should be made aware of it.

The conservative WI radio station I listen to made it seem like the court is very dysfunctional on both sides (this was weeks ago - before the ad). They speculated that a liberal/group would eventually try to portray Prosser as a symbol of that dysfunction and use that as an attack - which they have apparently now done.

Good job. I looked and couldn't find anything earlier today. From that link, just FYI others -- this was written by Justice Patience Rossensack to Chief Justice Abrahamson shortly after the incident:

"You are a very active participant in the dysfunctional way we carry-on. (As am I.) You often goad other justices by pushing and pushing in conference in a way that is simply rude and completely nonproductive. That is what happened when David lost his cool. He is not a man who attacks others without provocation. Until you realize that you are an active part of the provocation, not much will change. Perhaps a third party will help you realize that you are not part of the solution; you are part of the problem."

Take this for what it's worth as well.

I heard the vote turnout in Madison is at presidential levels.
