DOJ to white male bullying victims: Tough luck

DOJ to white male bullying victims: Tough luck - Washington Times

DOJ’s website states:

The Civil Rights Division and the entire Justice Department are committed to ending bullying and harassment in schools, and the video highlights the Department’s authority to enforce federal laws that protect students from discrimination and harassment at school because of their race, national origin, disability, religion, and sex, including harassment based on nonconformity with gender stereotypes.

The statement later says:

The enforcement of the Equal Protection Clause, Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 in school districts is a top priority of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. Additional information is available at the Civil Rights Division’s Educational Opportunities Section website at USDOJ: Civil Rights Division: About the Educational Opportunities Section.

Here is the catch. DOJ will only investigate bullying cases if the victim is considered protected under the 1964 Civil Rights legislation. In essence, only discrimination of the victim’s race, color, religion, or sex will be considered by DOJ. The overweight straight white male who is verbally and/or physically harassed because of his size can consider himself invisible to the Justice Department.

Apparently, the Justice Department is going by George Orwell’s famous Animal Farm ending: “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”

So if it is the job of the president and the government to stamp out bullying (its not), I guess for some, they don't count.....

White is a race.

On the heels of the non-prosecution of the Black Panther/DNC Billy Club voter drive.......

.....its clear civil rights only apply to Non-Whites in The Divided Socialist States of ObamAmerica.

I read the article, but its premise is wrong. (that white kids are alone in being excluded from any protection under this law.)

I guess, more accurately, the title of the article is deliberately misleading.

Idiotic and inaccurate partisan nonsense.

You see, people, the law only protects from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, or sex. White people can be discriminated against on basis of race too, you know. The DOJ doesn't "ignore" white people at all. (the article throws in the "overweight" red herring. an overweight black kid teased about his weight suffers the same issue)

You want a law that protects fat kids from bullying? Write your congressperson. The DOJ can't prosecute people for things that aren't crimes.

caucasion = race
white = color
sex = male

Why would white males not be covered under this?

If a guy is bullied because he's white, they'll investigate, if he's bullied because he's fat, they won't. Or do you think calling someone 'four-eyes' is worthy of an investigation by the DOJ?

It also doesn't concern kids with disabilities - which is my oldest son :shrug:

Smaller government.

Except for when there's a talking point to be fabricated.

Yeah - I think that this 'bullying as a government concern' is off the mark - what's next, making it a felony?

....it happens everyday....but according to Holder.....there hasnt been one act of discrimination against Honkeys in world history.

Im sure in the 2012 elections, white people can show up at the polls with billy clubs without fear of prosecution.

I agree, and I don't think any amount of government programs (or whatever they have in mind) will stop bullying. It's just a fact of life. Whatever happened to the time tested advice to just stand up to bullies? That, in my experience, is really the only thing that works.

I dont think, as i have stated wasting energy and time on bullying is worthy of an investigation anytime by the DOJ. :shrug:

Possibly. Lots of things are now criminal.

WOODBRIDGE — The chickens are coming home to roost for a couple of high school students who thought releasing live chickens into their school would make for a good senior prank last month.

But instead of chuckling at the fowl play, angry Woodbridge High School officials called the police and this week suspended the four students, who are now facing criminal charges.

What you're seeing is more government stepping in where Schools are concerned due to insurance concerns. This is why a zero tolerance policy exists - not because it makes sense but because the insurance risk of being sued by some parent is too high. The school enacts stupid policies, the government then feels it has to step in an inject themselves when, all that is needed is common sense. Something we as a people have lost in the past 30 years.
