GOP 2012 theme: American 'decline'

Then it seems like American exceptualism hasn't really ever been achieved... it sounds more like a ideal standard, something that may or may not work, who knows, but if you can never achieve something then it would seem unattainable. Our own political climate is in the way, so the American way kind of undermines itself by this definition..

This is the liberal mind set. They belive in CUBA'S exceptualism, not ours. Sad ain't it?

Unbelievable! Politico is showing its liberal bent here. I don't know about you, but I do see Obama as hostile to American exceptionalism. But to throw in the "birther" crap is over the top in my mind. What say you? To both questions: Is Obama responsible for American decline? and Is Politico a now hack site for using "birther" nonsense to make its point?

it definitely demonstrates the bent of the author of this article. repeated references to all the anger, bile, bitterness, fill-in-negative-emotion-here, of the conservative movement in general and evil republicans in general sort of hammers that point home.

that being said; Rush Limbaugh must be crowing. He called this a year and a half ago.
