By golly, Greenspan got it right.

Tomorrow, former Fed chair Alan Greenspan will go to the Council on Foreign Relations and argue that the main obstacle to economic recovery is the expansion of bureaucratic uncertainy caused by the “activism” of the Obama administration. Clifford Marks explains his thinking at National Journal, although he clearly isn’t impressed with the argument:

The point is it's true. And that TRUTH needs to be addressed. Liberal idiocy and lies are killing the economy and the nation.

I might agree with you about gov't activism killing the debt. But not the economy (in terms of GDP, wealth and job creation).

Translation: Health care reform is bad for an economic recovery.

specifically, which activism/policies as of late? Firms have a lot of liquidity tied up on their balance sheets, because they are afraid to spend it... market uncertainty. The uncertainty caused by the Obama Admin was mostly due to him doing nothing... letting Bush tax cuts expire, but that was a long time ago... and the bailout of the auto industry, so which activism is he talking about that is currently ongoing?

The government can't create wealth, nor jobs.

Over-regulation. No body saw Obama shutting down drilling in the GOM. Every other business in the country is sitting back wondering who he's going to **** next.

But it can adopt policies that facilitate those things.

Yeppers and that's exactly what Obama's not doing. You can't kill jobs, then turn around and claim to be business friendly.
