Westboro Baptist Church attorney Margie Phelps said Sunday that President Barack Obama was probably a sign of the Apocalypse.

“The president is going to be king of the world before this is all said and done and he is most likely The Beast spoken of in the Revelation,” she told Fox News’ Chris Wallace.

This video is from Fox’s Fox News Sunday, broadcast March 6, 2011.

What Margie Phelps is actually saying is that "President Barack Obama is a nigger". Yea, I know, it is a horrible word to put in a post, and for a minute, I almost didn't use that word because it is so repulsive. But, forgive me, I had to use that word in order to put into context the kind of hate that the Phelps Klan has in their hearts for their fellow Americans. According to them, God hates ALL Americans except their for their own little group. God hates fags, God hates niggers, God hates wetbacks, God hates.... Well, you get the picture. OK, OK, what about white people, you ask? If white people don't hate their fellow man just as much as the Phelps Klan does, then yes, God hates peckerwoods too.

Imagine the surprise that the Phelps Klan is going to get when they get to heaven, and find out that what God really hates is human excrement like themselves, and all the white, black, brown, yellow, and yes, gay residents of Heaven watch them descend into hell.

If it looks like I am being rough on the Phelps Klan, I am actually being quite nice to them. What I would really like to say would get me banned from here in a heartbeat.

Article is here.

PS - Want to know what really pisses me off? FOX News actually gave them air time, although I do give FOX News credit for making these lunatics look like..... well.... the lunatics they are.

We won't let that trash in.

Don't have time right now. I'm putting the Devil through his paces, and he's a little slow today. I think I'm going to kick his ass again.

Well don't. Fox gives them airtime because having a shouting match with wackoes makes great TV. It also makes Fox look less extremist itself. There's method in it.

I'm just looking forward to the enormous mass rally and chanting that will accompany the funeral of Fred 'Fritzl' Phelps. They won't hear a thing between 'Dearly Beloved....' and 'Amen.'

Remind me to never vote for you. I'm against what the Westboro Baptist Church is doing and how the government is NOT responding responsibly in the form of our courts, BUT for the right reason.

Why do you take a gratuitous shot at FoxNews for NOT FILTERING THE NEWS? And then immediately follow that up with defining the EXACT REASON that you and I and all of us should not want our news filtered in cases like this?

Back to why I say the courts are wrong. In this constitutional republic, where basic inalienable rights that all human beings have are respected and recognized, it is inherent as a "personal responsibility" that in the execution of said rights one is not allowed to trample on the rights of others. I have always believed this and posted this sentiment and for good reason. I carefully insert the word "inherent". For if you simply accept the liberal premise of people having rights...period, then you are advocating for anarchy and actually are defining it. NO-BAH-DEE has the right to do anything they want unrestricted. That's anarchy. The Rule of Law in any civilized, democratic society is established precisely for that reason. The corruption in attitude in our judicial system, and most especially evident by the Court of Nine that sets the example for lower courts is the myopic view of narrow perspective that is taken more and more.

We'd best wake up in this country, because our ignorant acceptance of any behavior without negative consequence sets the markerpost of societal tolerance that will fulfill the end manifested by the old axiom ..."The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions." When the majority, who has made law with respect for the right of dissenting voice of the minority, strays so far across that line of tolerance so that almost anything in behavior must be accepted it sets the standard for it's own demise as a nation.

You might be surprised to learn... :prof

Views on race and ethnicity

Founder Fred Phelps is a veteran of the Civil Rights movement (1955–1968),[69] and the Church attempts to distance itself from racism.[70] Despite this, Phelps' group did protest outside Coretta Scott King's funeral.[71]

On the subject of neo-Nazis, the KKK, and other violent extremist groups: "We don't believe in physical violence of any kind, and the Scripture doesn't support racism. ... The only true Nazis in this world are fags."[72]

Westboro Baptist Church - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now that's not to say they might not be racist, but they're not the KKK.

They're just some seriously disturbed individuals with a huge grudge against gays.

My theory is that Fred is gay himself and became one hell of a self loather

"The only true Nazi's in this world are fags"

:lamo :lamo :lamo

Oh, and I didn't even think about people protesting Phelps funeral, that should be EPIC!!

You know what, don't do that. What you should do instead is actually be respectful, show his family that you're not like them. In fact, even pay him respects, for no one has ever done more for the gay rights movement :2razz:

But bring a shotgun =)

I know, but think about it this way. Whats sends a more powerful message.

Being just as disrespectful to him as he was to others.

Or lining the hearse route just watching it go by in silence with no plaquards or anything...

Showing him and his family just how wrong they are about you.

Maybe that's just my "Madiba" philosophy coming out. But forgiveness is a very powerful weapon. You know as i said, he's probably a self loather, and you get behind the face and the hate and you might just find his story tragic...

Or not. Who knows. But still, really think about it :2razz:

I wasn't suggesting that's what people should do, just what I think they will do, and I'd be a liar if I said I wouldn't find it entertaining. I think your gesture would have much greater impact though. You're clearly a much better human being than me. :peace

Oh sorry blue I didn't actually see your post, just kinda replied to star and Dan.

Its just a difference in philosophy, i don't think it makes me a better human being. I'm not gay even though for me gay rights is something im very serious about I don't know what it's like to have that kind of hate directed at me for being who I am. So i cant blame you for feeling the way you feel about it.

My school of thought when it comes to things like this though is to try and understand WHY they do what they do. And in doing that its scary because you'll find sometimes its literally one life event that sparks what becomes a lifetimes worth of hate and for what?

Imagine for a second this possible scenario.

Fred phelps in the 60s maybe taking a little of the LSD, doing what 60s folks did... Maybe he experimented with another man, and maybe that man broke his heart.

Maybe as a young man he kissed a boy and his dad found out and did something terrible to him and he hated that part of himself afterwards and reflected it against others.

Now againt it's all speculation. But its interesting how that level of hatred for someone, often has a directly proportionate opposite.

Think about it this way what did MLK junior do to anyone? All he preached was love and understanding. But directly opposite someone felt so much hate for that man they shot him in the head...

Life is interesting,

Oh, I agree with you, but it's fun to think of the amazing signs ;)

The point here should be to view this intellectually, not emotionally. The family and friends of ANY deceased have the right to observe the passing of their family member/friend with a degree of privacy and respect. This kind of demonstration tramples all over that common decency right. It's not a right in the Constitution or codified to law and shouldn't have to be. It's an inalienable right any human being should be entitled to, because he/she is a human being and in that respect is the same as all of us. And in a democratic society even moreso. These Westboro idiots know precisely what they are doing and understand very well that since their first encounter with the media, that the media will clamor to their side to give them publicity. That's what they're all about. Keeping their decidedly minority and unpopular view in the limelight and screaming forth via media exposure. It gives then a reason to go on. They want to offend our sensibilities.

If Fred Phelps were to have a massive coronary and drop dead I might be sorely tempted to demonstrate with great vigor at his funeral as a 'get even' emotional release, but I damned well would pause and reflect and NOT elect to do so knowing that in doing so I'd be as bad as he was.

That's what I said Gallifreyan. It allows their PR pods to say, "You think we're right-wing nut-jobs, what about these guys?"

I love how were so used to accusations of Obama being the anti-christ by now that no one even talks about that

Obama will be king of the world.

I don't know the interwebz acronym that has enough rflmao to convey my reaction to this prediction.

Whenever there are Charles Manson interviews, I notice cable news shows look less extreme that way.

Well, nutty and extreme though they certainly are, I'm not calling the WBC mass murderers. Reductio ad absurdum, I think this is called.

Well said dana. These guys came to a friend of mine's son's funeral, a marine who died in Iraq. Real pieces of ****, who'll get everything that's coming to them on Judgment Day. And hopefully a little real-world justice will be visited on them before that.
