Last nights explosion at the Rajma military base outside Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city leveled blocks, left fires and left fire burning through the night. Reports indicate an ammunition depot caused the blast but another, far more sinister cause is much more likely, a tactical nuclear weapon.
The use of such weapons, believed “unthinkable” by the public, may be much more common than believed.

If they detonated a tactical nuclear weapon, we would know about it. Not "we" but "WE." I'm sure the entire country is on 24-hour satellite coverage. I'm thinking that analysis of the explosion and its resulting heat signature could postulate the amount of heat being generated and thus either confirm or disprove the use of a tactical nuke.

Doesn't that sound impressive? Wow. Note to others: Whenever anyone says, "I'm sure..." followed by whatever, it means they're not. ;-)

Yeah I had HUUUUGE doubts about the article and posing it even. Alas I looked at the website title and went for it. Veterans Today seems like a source that has some legitamacy. But this story does seem pretty far out there and I would think major news stations would be on this like Sheen on a 8 ball.

Observers on the ground, CIA spy satellites, seismic monitors, radiation detectors, aircraft in the area............I would hope our military/intelligence agencies have the capability to detect nuclear explosions by now after all the money we've spent on them.

There is no basis to the conspiracy theory that conveniently links Israel and tactical nuclear weapons. Israel did not and would not provide such weapons to one of its more vocal enemies. Moreover, had such a weapon been detonated, and it wasn't, the signature of its radiation would have been evident and picked up. No such radiation signature was detected. In short, the story has no foundation whatsoever.

This practically impossible. Why? A ground burst detonation of a nuclear weapon leaves a large amount of fall out, even a small tactical nuclear device will produce this, which would be carried along by prevailing winds and the whole world would know. It couldn't be hidden. You cannot detonate a nuclear device and keep it a secret. Even a small one. Where are the flash blind victims? Where are the "strange cases of radiation sickness" that would certainly occur?

No, this is silly speculation by people that nominally, just going by the name of the web site, know better.
