Exactly, so then why are so many looking to expand the size and scope of the Federal Govt? There is so much duplication and thus waste, fraud, and abuse. No wonder we have a 14.3 trillion dollar debt and still far too many want to expand the role of the Federal Govt. into things like Healthcare.

There's change we can believe in, huh.

Re: General Accounting Office Details Billions in Federal Waste, Congress mostly to b

Imagine what us lowly citizens couldve been able to do with that money if we were able to keep it instead of giving it to the Feds.

The request for this report was a good move by the republicans. The report lists duplicate efforts across agencies that could certainly be consolidated without any real harm to the american public. I would love to see congress put these recommendations to a vetoproof up or down vote.

Yes, it shows in great detail the problems caused by the revenue shortfall due to the recession.

That plus the fact that the 2008 Bush budget was 2.9 trillion dollars and Obama has proposed a 3.7 trillion budget for 2011. Didn't Obama say he could fix the problem? Instead of fixing the problem he has really prolonged the crisis.
