from the article:
Feldman ruled that the government had to pay the legal fees for the lawsuit, which are “substantial,” according to the firm handling it. That means taxpayers get the bill both ways.

Too bad they couldn't think up a better punishment. The government's getting "fined" out of their resevoir of taxpayer dollars. :doh

This is really why I hate law though, since we have a common law system its really up to the Judges to decide what is legal and illegal, how the law is interpreted, and how its meanings will gradually change over time. Meaning a huge part of our law is grounded in somebody's opinion, of course its their opinion on the written law but still.

Probably why they felt they had nothing to lose by violating the ruling. There is such a thing as criminal contempt, but I doubt the judge would go there.

they should take it out of obama's salary.

That was never my intent I think you misunderstood the point of that post.

No, I didn't misunderstand anything. You made a point about bitching about others proving a claim then went out of your way to make a claim of your own without actually proving it.

I quoted the claim, now if you wish not to be hyprocite yourself, prove it.

God dang activist judges!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I am all for the court systems doing what it is that they do. The funny part is the conservatives all rejoining the rest of society in supporting the three branches, but when Bush was in office they thought the justice system was too liberal and unpatriotic!

Way to rejoin society, guys!

They're not activist judges if their rulings are grounded in the law rather than in their political views.

Props to the fed judge, btw. Gutsy move.

My point is that several people would be calling this guy an activist judge if he was going after George W. Bush or someone like that. It's a totally different story when the shoe is on the other foot.

Accountability is a real bitch. Too bad for Obama that there are actually three branches of government.

According to Chucky Schumer the judiciary is not a branch of govt. :lamo

It's kind of funny how the "activist judge" accusation doesn't come out in situations like these.

What's even funnier, is how folks like yourself aren't saying, "well, Obama is subject to the law just like everyone else", but rather going on the offensive against Conservatives.
