That's quite an optimistic way of looking at things. If you ever want to see the Native American political empowerment that has been given to those people, take a little trip to the Res and see how much it is like a 3rd world country and how dirt poor people are there. Also, pay close attention to the plethora of crosses on the side of the roads on the Res. that are a tribute to the countless drunk driving deaths.
 
Washington surprises me too. I live there. I am certainly going to look at my neighbors differnetly from now on.

As to the res, third world country doesn't begin to cover it. I wish I had one idea on how to help the people who live there, on any res. I am sure there are others who do tho.

If you actually click on the link and get to the article it'll show you specifically how they reached those conclusions. I had a hard time believing Maryland had the highest AIDS rate too.
 
My state, North Carolina, got a fail for teacher's salary. The best part: they just had to lay off thousands of teachers because they could not afford them!

I literally have no idea where my tax dollars are going. Perhaps it is because Wachovia exploded.

And MA should have the highest college grad count, we only have a million schools in the state.
 
A radio/tv ad is now running in Illinois in which Gov. Christie invites Illinois businesses to relocate to New Jersey because of the tax advantages. I imagine we'll see more such invitations to skedaddle in the coming months.
 
Ohio is the nerdiest state because they have the highest number of library visits per capita? That's all they could come up with? Seriously? Ohio sucks so much it can't even be the worst at something interesting.
