Why Your State Sucks: The Great American Map of Fail - TIME NewsFeed

TIME developed a map of what each state is the worst in the nation at. Some of them are light-hearted and subjective, others are big problems for the state in question. As a DC resident, my home is not listed on here...but I can think of many things that DC is probably the worst in the country at. :mrgreen:

Why does YOUR state suck? Do you know of any other things that your state (or any state) manages to screw up worse than every other state?

That one's easy. SPORTS. DC just plain sucks at sports. I have been an ailing wizards fan for many years. I'm sure redskins and nationals fans are just as pissed off. Also Maryland is worst at abortions? Does that mean they perform the least or the most? I'd like to think it's the least.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, Delaware is worst at abortions, I misread. Maryland is worst at AIDS. WTF? Is that a good or bad thing? *facepalm*

EDIT: I'm sorry kandahar, seems the creator of the Image decided to leave DC out because it was the worst at so many things:

That's true. DC's sports teams aren't very good. I'm not a big sports fan, although I do enjoy DC United. I'm sure we also lead the nation in much more serious matters, like the overall crime rate, the poverty rate, and wealth disparity.

It's Delaware actually...and I would assume it means they perform the most. Maryland's dubious claim to fame is the highest AIDS rate in the country.

Aside from sports, first and foremost DC is probably the worst at getting representation in Congress...
 
We don't suck at driving. We just have low patience which causes a lot of accidents.

I guess it's not really fair to compare DC to other states, comparing it to other urban areas and cities would perhaps be a more fair comparison. But none of this takes away from the fact that DC is effffed up. At least it's better than when crack was going on in the 80s.

Where is the map of "Why your state rocks"?

I think it's funny that Utah is first in porn usage...although perhaps that shouldn't be surprising.

Yea, Texas sucks at a lot of things. However, I moved here from Michigan. Why? Because Michigan sucks worse. :mrgreen:

Yea, Massholes DO suck at driving...

Now, as for corporate taxes, are they too high or too low. If too low, GOOD. If too high, then they are offset by the otherwise low tax regime in the state, Remember, no general income or sales tax...
 
Heh, just noticed North Dakota has the ugliest residents(how did they come up with that) and Louisiana has the most Gonorrhea(like that is a shock).
