Keith Olbermann announces tonight's Countdown as his last show!

actually it is a very apt comparison. Jack ripped apart his victims and Beck has been doing much the same thing to America.

There is a world of difference between the figurative and the literal. Besides haven't we all just had this discussion in america?

Its cute how all the MEAN GIRLS stick up for each other.

Okay, now that I've stopped dancing....

I really hope some far-left nutjob doesn't take out his anger about this on a conservative...... Keith always spoke out against Beck, Palin, Bachmann, Limbaugh, O'Reilly.....that puts them all in danger since the nutjob would more than likely blame the right (like haymarket is doing, although I'm sure he wouldn't hurt anyone).

Great ratings doesn't mean great substance.

True. But you need an audience in order to be effective and get your voice heard. Moving to CNN (the lowest rated cable news network) wouldn't be a smart move unless it was a last resort. But I don't think CNN would want him.

Fox should hire him, he would get along great with Beck, and Hannity, since you know, there shows are exactly the same.

One year to the day of the Citizens United debacle.

And so it begins.

LOL....or not.

No, but low ratings pretty much equate to cultural irrelevance. Bill Buckley's Firing Line had substance, but I don't think his ratings compared to Beck's or O'Reilley's.

He and Hannity would probably kill each other. Olbermann doesn't seem like the lay down and take it type like Colmes was.

You mean other than actually having an audience?

LOL....or not.

You can't deny that there shows are EXACTLY the same. I mean, sure one left leaning, and the other two are right leaning, but the substance of there shows are exactly the same.

You're more right than not. MSNBC simply tried to duplicate what had worked so well over at fox. However, msnbc is in competition with the entire mainstream media whereas fox has no competition for it's audience.

Maybe Hannity and Olbermann, but Beck's show is totally different than any cable news show.

I remember watching Hannity and Colmes quite a bit when I was younger. Fox would get a democrat that actually looks like a weasel

Which brings the question what is the real purpose of these pundits? I mean if shows with substance do not draw attention, than why do they watch shows with much less substance?

No, the substance is about the same. Nothing substantial about them.

I had to watch O'Reilly and Hannity for homework every night my 10th grade year or else I would fail part of my homework assignment.
