GOP Lawmakers Unveil $2.5 Trillion Spending Cuts Package

The bill was passed in 2003. Who controlled the house and senate and the presidency? This is typical republican strategy part 3, blame everything you do on democrats.
Oh, I'm not denying that was a Rep bill. What I'm saying is, the Dems wanted more and GOP tried compromising with them. Do they get credit for that? No, the get condemned for spending by the party that has raised spending to previously unheard of levels. As far as the blame game, are you kidding me? Who's repeatedly referred to as the "party of no", "obstructionists" and "holding Obama hostage" over tax cuts while they had no power over the last couple years to obstruct anything?

Thank you at least for actually addressing the point I made however.
You're welcome.

I did respond exactly to what you said, the Bush Prescription Drug program was NOT unfunded.

that is a very weird way you have of describing what happened. They failed to provide any NEW source of funding for their NEW spending program. If Dems did that you would be screaming to high heaven about the sheer irresponsibility of it all.

Prescription drug program is part of Medicare it is already funded and as shown came in under budget.

As has been posted if you will be honest Democrats wanted more spending, not less so where would that money have come from?

If the Dems had done it, you'd be lauding it as this great, caring thing.

How about actually showing us what the cuts proposed are, instead of whining...

It might have been nice if they returned their own salary levels to FY2000 levels, as a sign that they're committed to fiscal responsibility.

If a place has 50 employees, and decides to let attrition reduce manning to 25 employees, 25 jobs have been lost in the economy.

Yes, but, no one has lost their job. Huge difference.

Bogus savings underlie these proposals.

So save 3 billion, is that not worth it? Is there some threshold of savings that we should not bother with?

Agreed. But who wants to pay more for every single product that uses high fructose corn syrup? All the Teatards who want to pay $29.00 for a box of cereal, raise your hands.

is teatard supposed to be ironic, given that apparently they understand (and you don't) that food subsidies in this country serve to keep prices higher?

You get what you pay for.
Imagine if even dumber people started running for office...

maybe they would get less accomplished? :)

This in the very first post of this thread.

Ah, yes, the pledge...So, regardless if it has any real or meaningful effect, they did what they said and now they're off the hook? Got it.

Well I can see where a politician doing what he said he would do, is a concept that liberals are not familiar with. It's something they have never seen before.
