EPA shuts down one of the largest Coal Mines in U.S.

Then you people would complain about him spending money. The "Messiah"(just call the man by his damn name) can cure aids, and people would still complain.

We call Obama names because the Left calls conservatives names. Remember the moniker "Bu****ler," or "Chimpbush?" It's just payback in the form of political speech.

Or the company was to cheap and killed jobs

Lets toss a quarter on this:lol:

OMG! Let me guess: "The company forced the government to kill these jobs"? :lamo

Oh, oh, oh! I know: "If it wasn't for the company, we wouldn't have to kill all these jobs".

America doesn't need any energy except what we import from foreign dictators. Say no to renewables and alternatives. The Left and the Right are in a Mexican standoff. Let's do nothing.

I wouldn't have shut them down, but forced them to do it. Protect the environment, protect the peoples jobs. Problems solved.

This is how they force them to do it. Anything less is always ignored.

And had not the EPA protected the environment I'm sure you'd be bitching about that too. Either way because the president is a democrat you'd be bitching.

Yeah I think you'd be bitching either way because all you want to do is bash Obama. You could care less about the jobs or the people in W Virginia.

This is just an example of regulating interstate commerce, which is one of the powers delegated to the federal government by the constitution.

Forgoing this regulation of interstate commerce in order to save people's jobs, however, is not one of the powers delegated to the federal government by the constitution.

Why are conservatives (who are supposedly in favor of strict readings of the constitution) bitching about this?

So, I've started multitudes of thread bitching about the EPA not regulating businesses enough? Care to show us one of those?

Shutting businesses down isn't regulation. Common sense dictates that this is over-regulation. I would love to see the part of the Constitution where it says, "...and shut businesses down, if need be".

Not what I said.

Let us know when those miners go back to work.

The coal is not going anywhere. Eventually a World class company that can extract it without destroying the environment will do it the right way and in the process create more jobs.. Why do some of you support shoddy companies that don't deserve to be in business.

That's like saying it's Giffords's fault that she got shot.

What you don't seem to understand is the company could have kept the jobs at a higher cost. Many companies eliminate jobs because of cost considerations. Environmental laws are nothing new and every other company has to abide by them for the common good. Why do you want to give this company a free pass to pollute?

If they can get a permit.

Don't hold your breath. The coal won't be mined. Instead the country will import oil from foreign dictators. That's what environmentalists want.

This mentality will become increasingly rare as Americans experience a decline in their living standards.

They can, though to meet EPA guide lines in order to not cause permanent damage to the ecosystem the company will have to pony up an extra 55 cents per ton of coal.

What are the EPA's guidelines?
