Finally, someone with the nads to tell the NAACP where to get off.

Hmmm... I don't think I'm familiar with this guy.
Oh well, I think I like him. I'm sick and tired of wussies.

But LePage’s tendency to speak his mind appeared to play extremely well with the groundswell of Republicans and other voters frustrated with government and tired of politics as usual.

“I have not learned to speak out of both sides of my mouth,” then-candidate LePage said following one of the dust-ups over his comments. “But I have to learn not to use street words.”

Immediately following his “kiss my butt” statement in the WCSH video, LePage can be seen turning toward Demeritt and says “Aww, I got Dan all upset.” But in his statement to the press, Demeritt made no apologies for his boss’ comments.

“This is about a special interest group taking issue with the governor for not making time for them and the governor dismissing their complaints in the direct manner people have come to expect from Paul LePage,” Demeritt said.

The NAACP's job is to put the racist label on anyone and everything.
Good job LePage!

Damn! Wish I had him for a govenor! We need more people like him that are willing to tell special interest groups to "kiss my butt". ;)

Come on...isnt this the same kind of petty rhetoric that proves him and people like Sarah Palin or second city, not ready for prime time players? As a governor there is at least a certain amount of decorum you are supposed to have. No...you dont have to 'cave' to special interests and I loves me a straight talkin sunovagun...but while I despise the term politician there is something to be said about being a 'statesman'.

I can't disagree, but it's still nice to see someone with the nads to tell the NAACP where to get off, even if he didn't do it exactly like he should have. Ya can't have everything.

True. They are having this discussion in the south about using MLK day to make up for lost school days. My initial thought here is WWKD? Would MLK rather people take a day off from school...a day where my guess is that 90% of the people dont give the man or the dream a second thought, or would he rather see people in this year where weather has forced people to make some uncomfortable choices go to school and actually learn and better themselves. Id like to think the man would rather people go to school, go to work, and 'live' the 'dream'.

Probably not the most appropriate language for a sitting Governor to use. He does/should serve as a role model of civility at least to some extent.

On the other hand, there is a certain irony of the NAACP trying to hang a racist label on a Governor who has a black son.....;)

.

Another thread about Sarah Palin, I have heard that Palin compared media connections between her inflammatory rhetoric and the Arizona shootings to blood libel on Facebook Wednesday. Blood libel is the latest addition to a rising list of ignorant meanderings referred to as "Palinisms" that include "refudiate" and "death panel." The true meaning of blood libel is in mention of an old slander made by Christians against Jews accusing them of seeking kids to sacrifice for religious gratification. Palin is going to have to take out a huge payday loan to buy her foot out of her mouth if she isn’t careful.

He said what?!?!?!

A public figure said butt!!!!!!

This is unnaceptable language and severely offends me...

In all seriousness, nice LePage...

I think this is good. The NAACP should not be taken seriously anymore at all. They twist the arms of others with the threat of labeling them as racists. Such an organization deserves no credibility or authority. Good job LePage.
