Kay! I'm going to say #2 because it looks like you could put some kind of extended magazine on it. Please don't tell me it's a toy a gun. It's nasty lookin', though.

how about this one?

No, I don't think it's anything special -- just camo'd for hunting's my guess. Wait a minute! Is that a BB gun? And how comes I didn't get any points for being right about the first pics posted?? Damn it, I deserve an A on that one!! ;-)

Musta' been a system glitch, huh?

They are all the same gun... (the very top one is an older gun, but similar properties, which is why I posted this last one)

it's an m14

Point being, cosmetics, should not be a basis for banning weapons.

They probably weren't actual machine guns. Especially, if they were just hanging on the wall.

BTW, if they are actual machine guns, call the ATF and you can get the store owner in a ****load of trouble. Automatic weapons have to be locked up in a vault, at all times, unless the weapon is being transported from one place to another and then, it can only be possessed by a class 3 Federal Firearms License holder.

You can't shoot through walls very effectively with a shotgun.

Point of contention, a 12 Gauge Slug is quite effective.

At my old apartment, and I can't find the article atm or I'd post it, a man was shot through a door and wall by a shotgun slug. Just saying.

I've been described worse.

It's not a hysterical reaction. It's plain old common sense. Want to go hunting? Want to protect your home? Fine. But people just don't need to be able to shoot 18 rounds --plus -- without reloading. They just don't.

that is your opinion. So what size clip is ok, 13, 9, 1 round? Yes a pistol with an extended clip in the hands of a crazy can create lots of damage and havoc. Would it been better for the shooter to have two pistols with standard clips? Still lots of rounds. The point is if someone is going to carry out an act of violance, they will find a way and no law is going to stop it. It is against the law to rob banks, but people do. It is against the law to kill someone and people do.

I personally agree with you that I see no need to own for example a 50cal machine gun. Yet, I know a few that do and are very good people. they just happen to like weapons, shooting at a range at targets, and the art of reloading. I do own firearms (rifles and handguns). I see no need to take that away from them because of this act that just occured in Tucson.

Has Maggie figured out that when someone is ignorant about guns one shouldn't call for bans on stuff she has no clue about

Assault weapons should be illegal on the Federal level. I shouldn't be able to go into a gun shop and buy a machine gun. It's absolutely ridiculous to think that private citizens should be able to possess these kinds of guns. I could go down the street right now and, with a three-day waiting period, walk away with a machine gun. Reeeeeeediculous.

No more assault weapons. No more right-to-carry. Background checks required. Three references required. No more gun show sales. I'm all for it. The time is now.

And, by the way, enforce the laws already on the books as to those who own/carry/transport illegal guns of any kind.

I must point out to you that machine guns, while still somewhat legal for civilians to own, would be difficult for most to obtain. Civilians cannot posses any machine guns made after 1986, and also must undergo detailed background checks including an interview with the local police chief, if I recall correctly. That, and the process takes much longer than a week. If I recall, it might take up to 90 days for you to walk out of that store with that machine gun, assuming you have $4500-$50,000 to spend on it.

Not only that, but they are very expensive. Here are some listings for machine guns you could purchase, if you have enough cash.

HK 21 UBF Shorty Beltfed Machine Gun

Vector UZI 9MM Transferable Sub Machine Gun

http://www.impactguns.com/store/MGC-A6041726.html

So, you could obtain a machine gun for as little as $4500, if you're willing to undergo all the checks and interviews and registration and extra taxes and paperwork. I really think a criminal would rather get ten glock 9mm handguns or four AR-15's or twelve shotguns than buy one full auto machine gun. Don't you?

I would also like to point out that if members of the President's cabinet will cheat on their taxes, criminals will surely provide references for each other.

Just for clarity, the first rifle is an M-1 Garand.

Possibly, but not nearly as effective as a 7.62 FMJ.

Pretty damn pathetic that people wanna blame the guns for the persons actions. He could have used any number of methods to do what he wanted to do.

I mean for gods sake he could have used the spanner in the billiards room, but no, he chose to use a gun.

And now, tragic death is once again being used as a political tool to try and control something that, really, did not cause those deaths, the person behind that weapon caused those deaths.

Hate to be captain Obvious here but, I guess some people need that.

It's just as pathetic to blame a person's political opinon for another person's action.

A crazy person can use the 6:00 weather report to rationalize murder.

oh crap, it just started snowing.

This was a great oppotunity missed by pro-gunners. Imagine what we would be talking about if one of the bystanders pulled a pistol out and shot the psycho before his toll reached one? I went out the next day carrying my 40 cal. all day, everywhere I went.

The blood ain't even dry, yet. Looks like she took Rahm's advice.

Yeah, there's nothing like rushed gun control legislation based on reactionary emotions! Woot!
