an awesome story...hopefully he makes the most of this second chance.

Turns out he's got a criminal record a mile long.

Turns out he's got a criminal record a mile long.

And so that's suppose to prohibit someone from giving the man a break even after he acknowledges that he made mistakes and has taken corrective action to turn his life around? He's not a felone; he just made mistakes (drug and alcohol abuse).

Before you say it, this is not some Liberal getting bent out of shape at some Conservative's political viewpoint. This his is one human being looking at another human being, recognizing that he made mistakes, giving the man credit for not giving up on himself. By all accounts he has accepted his self-inflected/societal punishment of being homeless (since his former employer obviously didin't condone his behavior nor did his friends and family) and being appreciative of someone giving him a second chance at doing what he loves.

Why is it so hard for some people to be compasionate instead of always looking at the darkside of things?

I like his mother - I feel for her.

Good for him - good for them. . . maybe they can move on in a positive way.
