Let me try to break this down for you even simpler. Peak oil does not mean there is no more oil. It means that we consume more than we produce, and its been that way since 1970, unless you can provide evidence of any year in the last 40 when we produced more than we consumed.

Producing less than we consume has more to do with price manipulation and government regulation, than anything else.
