Were the Bush Tax Cuts Good for Growth?

I would not have to pay property taxes if I did not own property (my choice to own the propeties that I do own)
I would not have to pay sales taxes if I bought second hand or grew/raised my own food (my choice that I do not)
I would not have to pay income taxes if I had no legally reported income (my choice that I work)

Life is full of choices, paying taxes is one of them

This actually gets to a point I've been trying to make for a while...

If the Bush tax cuts were "good", then why were the 2000s (even if you cut the decade off before the Great Recession) the slowest decade for growth in the post-WW2 era?

Simple Math. 2000-2007 produced 4 million jobs, a 5% rate of unemployment and exponential GROWTH....until the housing bubble produced ( not by TAX CUTS, but Freddie, Fannie the Banking Industry, Wall St Greed...and Progressive Entitlement) the EXCESS SPENDING of some 1.4 Trillion dollars to begin with in a SUPPOSED STIMULUS, and as of right now the further SPENDING TOTAL of almost 4 TRILLION DOLLARS beyond what the resources of the FED have to PAY. Not to mention a Budget that mandates the further SPENDING of 10.3 Trillion RED LEDGER DOLLARS more on Welfare alone over the next Decade.

Again....TRUTH demonstrates that it was not the LACK OF TAXES that caused this STAT...but the AMOUNT SPENT. A Fact that is "conveniently" omitted from this article is the fact that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT collected more REVENUE than the Statical Average over the last, 20, 40, and 60 year mean average total. Thus averaging more than any previous short term period of US HISTORY. Thus if it were a REVENUE PROBLEM as suggested...the Bush years would have been the greatest in US HISTORY along with the COLLECTED REVENUE which was above the HISTORICAL AVERAGE. But sad to say.....Bush was anything but a fiscal CONSERVATIVE he was a PROGRESSIVE with an "R" tattooed on his name plate.

Take for example the year 2006. 18.4% of the GPD. Which was actually above the 20,40 and 60 year average. For instance in 1995 the TAX REVENUE at the FEDERAL level was only 18.5% of GPD. Even though there was a DEFICIT for 2006...that deficit was the result, not of UNCOLLECTED TAXES..but, ADDITIONAL SPENDING. Which is it? Was BUSH a moron? An evil Genius that duped the World by ATTACKING his own nation? A SPENDING NUT? A conservative that wants OLD PEOPLE to eat cat food? All the above has been propagated by the LEFT...its most difficult to follow the Theater...the STORY LINE if it keeps changing on a day to day basis...depending upon the deflective TALKING POINT coming from the DNC and UNIONS which are ass hole deep in Crap right now..with the approval numbers dropping like a concrete Balloon. Funny as Hell.


The United States does not have a TAX PROBLEM...but a SPENDING PROBLEM, as clearly defined by the 14 TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT...over 4 Trillion of which has been added in the PAST TWO YEARS. But TAXES are the PROBLEM...really? Enlighten US, what would happen if you TAXED all those supposed EVIL RICH BASTARDS making over 250k a year at a 100% rate...would that balance the Budget? Not no...but HELL NO. This out of control SPENDING MUST STOP.

but you are on the grid, right? and very few places in the USA offer a choice. In the Phoenix area, there are 2 choices for electric power. You can choose the one you want by choosing where you live. If you live in an SRP area, you pay SRP.
No, they won't send men with guns if you don't pay up, they send men who disconnect you from the grid and you pay a large deposit to get back on..

140 years ago I was black in the US I would not have a choice in working or not, and by god I would be doing it for free.

I also showed you that paying taxes are a voluntary act, chosen by the choices you freely made. You have plenty of options avaliable to ensure you do not pay taxes. Options where the government will not send jackboots to beat you down. Of course the options may not be very pleasent

so which of the choices have you made?
for me, I have chosen to limit use of heat and air conditioning, replaced my regular incandescent lights with CFL and halogens, installed a clothes line on the back porch, and so on. My utility bills are a lot less than most of my neighbors even tho my house is almost twice the size of theirs....

Wait until the American Power Act kicks in. Do you have a wood burner or an old fashioned evaporating cooling unit that works on Wind and Water? How about a bicycle...horse...mule..etc.? A garden? Can you hunt? Fish?

I find it amusing that this JOKER said PAYING TAXES was a choice...right after he got through bitching about having to pay taxes because he had a taxable income. Paying Taxes is not a CHOICE...even though most progressives believe they are, judging by the TAX CHEATS that Barry Obama has surrounding him, PAYING TAXES are STATE MANDATES enforced by THREATS of fines and or imprisonment. Sure taxes are OK...as long as it is someone else that is paying them, as almost 47% of the US population pays no Federal Income TAX. But, the problem is....as Marget Thatcher said, "Socialism is alright...until you run out of OTHER PEOPLES MONEY."

CFL and some LEDs. I live in a new very energy efficient condo that is close to work ( 5 miles ) so that I dont have to waste time in traffic or spend a huge amount of money on gas.

I hate wasting money, and I dont like when the government wastes my money. So I vote to oust the ones that do regardless of ideology. I prefer competence to ideological purity

You dont want to pay taxes

Dont earn a taxable income, sell your homes, buy second hand goods and grow your own food

You will then not pay any taxes, your quality of life might take a big drop, but you wont pay a single cent in taxes
