ADL:Glenn Beck's Remarks About Soros And The Holocaust 'Offensive And Over The Top'

Re: Glenn Beck draws criticism over latest Holocaust comments

What won't Beck get criticism over? And while you certainly cherry pick the bad parts, the one bit that makes the criticism seem silly is this part:

Soros has spoken publicly about how he escaped the death camps by posing as a member of a Christian family. The teenager did accompany his protector, whose job was to confiscate property from Jews in Nazi-occupied Hungary.

Steve Kroft, in a 1998 "60 Minutes" interview, told Soros that it sounded like "an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years." But Soros said that he doesn't feel guilty for what happened because "whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator; the property was being taken away."

It probably was frightening. And he was a Jewish boy posing as someone else while property was confiscated. So what's the problem again? Is it that it actually happened, or that Beck just said it out loud?

This is already being discussed in News 2.0.

Re: ADL:Glenn Beck's Remarks About Soros And The Holocaust 'Offensive And Over The To

i don't watch them either....got sick of it a long time ago.

Exactly. I don't need to handle rattlesnakes, or even be in the same county as a rattlesnake, to know that rattlesnakes are to be avoided at all costs. Some things are just common sense. Like the recent rally. What happens if you listen to Jon Stewart? You take it down a notch. O, the humanity!! <sigh> If you listen to him daily, you laugh. A lot. And maybe learn something. You know that there's hope, no matter how bad things get.

As to Beck, I refuse to watch him. Adamantly refuse. I am saddened that I can even recognize him, or the sound of his voice. I prefer the one step removed, "by his fruits". I watch his disciples, or followers, or fans; whatever they wish to call themselves. I don't perceive them as conservatives or Republicans, I perceive them as fanbois. They don't cast a very kind light on Mr. Beck. There is nothing that can be said in his support or defense, AS HE STANDS, that would make me elevate my opinion of him. Now, if he stopped trying to manipulate people and words for ratings, aka $$, I could slowly change my mind. It wouldn't be instant, as he has spent a fair amount of time Behaving Badly. But I do know people can change.

Re: ADL:Glenn Beck's Remarks About Soros And The Holocaust 'Offensive And Over The To

Just in case anyone is interested, here was the First time Glenn Beck mentioned the Childhood of George Soros on his Fox show. It's at the 5:32 mark in the following video from last Tuesday, the 9th... Then again at the 8:40 mark... Does this sound anti-Semitic to anyone?

On the 10th, Beck said nothing about Soros's childhood at all on his Fox show, as was claimed in the op.

On the 11th, Beck mentioned his childhood once again. It's at the 4:00 mark in the following video, and what he says is backed up by Soros's own words.

You want to know more about Soros based on his own words? Then watch this clip starting at the 5:20 mark.
