Obama: Republicans Counting On Blacks Staying Home

Just like the election cycle... he's STILL the only one playing the race card.

It's the only card he has left that has any credibility. Sad really.

I hope ignorant or stupid people stay home along with those living on the dole. If you know who the last two finalists in American Idol were but you don't know the name of your state's two senators and if you cannot name at least 5 supreme court justices, I hope you don't vote

Are you saying black people are ignorant and stupid or are you just bringing up something completely irrelevant?

1) well if 91% still support Obama you have your answer

2) look at rates of education-compared to say Jews, Chinese Americans etc, the ignorance answer seems to be a clear yes.

Gosh, that would be a bunch of Republicans. Just saying...

That is rather stupid and without proof. Do you realize that hs dropouts, as a group, have favored the dems in the last 10+ national elections? In fact the educational cohort most likely to vote dem are HS dropouts.

So Dave Thompson of Wendy's restaurant fame statistically most likely voted democrat?

Gotta keep those racial divides wide and deep.

If it weren't for, "racism", the Democrats would never win an election.

don't forget "white guilt", all those bleeding heart liberals that feel the need to atone for the misdeeds of people who have been dead for over 100 years.

Funny, I was gonna say if it wasn't for people like Sarah Palin... but ok...

Why does Obama make every issue a racial issue?

When has Palin made racial comments? She would be crucified by the left wing media if she did...........

Obama thinks republicans hope blacks, union workers, and young people stay home.

This just in, republicans think Democrats hope old people, buisness owners, and christian people stay home.

Now, can we get past Obama wasting time playing Captain Obvious in hopes of stirring up his base and worrying more about dealing with election results and campaigning then doing his damn job and get back to actual worth while issues?

That would be rather funny of you to say, since an examination of the polls, donations, and party support for the McCain ticket prior to Palin joining and post Palin joining would show quite the opposite effect would happen. Why would you have said something that would make absolutely no sense to anyone that was actually knowledgable about elections? That just seems weird.

i think palin drove independents away in packs, despite her popularity with the right wing religious voters.

McCain was polling poorly, and arguably horribly compared to his previous runs at the Presidency, with Independents even before Palin joined. The affect Palin had on independents is likely less than many attempt to make it out to be because Obama was already solidly in control of the independent vote PRIOR to Palin coming on. Going from "I don't mind McCain, but I'm voting for Obama" to "I don't like McCain because of Palin, and I'm voting for Obama" in the end doesn't really change anything.

However McCain was doing poorly as well with his own party, with donations being relatively low compared to post Palin, party excitement which in elections tends to relate to turnout was extremely poor pre palin compared to post palin. It also simply gave him a generalized bump, helping to account for the first lead he had in the polls since early in the election.

Sarah Palin for the most part turned off moderates who were likely to vote for Obama anyways while spurred increased donations and turnout from those in his base who were likely to sit out or vote 3rd party.

If Mccain was somehow polling wonderful with Independents prior to the picking of Palin I'd say you have a bit of a point, but Obama was relatively solid with the Independent vote prior to the pick of Palin.

Oh, maybe because the right throws it up in our faces?

Wow and you wonder why we don't vote republican and why most of us think the south is still very racist. Most of your base is in the south and they consist of the "good ole boys". Not all are racist, but I'm willing to believe that more then half are. And before calling us ignorant, your base need to look in the mirror.

Let me ask you this... As a middle class minority, name me one reason why I would support a republican in this year and 2012 election?
