CNN Poll: Was Bush better president than Obama?

Non sequitur, red herring. Try again.

There is absolutely no way that any true Libertarian would pick Barack Obama over GW Bush as a better President. Obama has created massive govt. expansion and spending. Bush cut taxes and Obama is raising them. No Libertarian supports larger govt and higher taxes.

QUOTE Goobieman;

The increase in entitlement speniding under The Obama is, alone, greater than the cost of the wars.

What entitlement spending are you talking about?
And, by defintion, tax cuts cannot be funded.

My bad, I should have said unfunded wars and tax cuts being put into effect without finding a way to make up make up for the lost revenue.:2wave:

What lost revenue? Govt. revenue has grown every year AFTER tax cuts. Not sure where you get your talking points but I suggest a change in sources. What do your sources tell you the cost of the two wars were? Then I will give you he amount the U.S. Treasury paid.

Interesting. .umm tax rate was cut in 1925 to 25% from 46% the year before, three years later wooops. Great Depression. The next time was in 1988 from 50% two years later and 38.5% , Woops three years later recession. Tax cuts during the Bush Presidency Woops, what is being termed as the Great Recession. Not sure about you but when the GDP delines thats lost revenue . .

My source is the federal government historical records.

You dont know what entitlement spending is...?
:shock;

Differen words, same meaning, same negation.

Unless you can prove that we made a profit during the Iraq war I beleive donc has a point.

Then post them, mine comes from the U.S. Treasury and Bureau of Economic Analysis. The Reagan tax cuts were passed in August 1981, not 1988 and went down 10-10-5% over three years. By the way, JFK cut taxes as well. It wasn't the tax cuts that caused the recession but as a Libertarian I am sure you would have loved keeping more of your money although I doubt you are a Libertarian as no Libertarian given the choice would take Obama over Bush in a Presidential Preference Poll.

I asked how much his source says the Iraq War cost. You tell me then I will give you the U.S. Treasury numbers and since it is the Treasury that is the checkbook of the United States, guess which one I will believe?

He did not wasy WHAT is entitlement spending.

He said what ENTITLEMENTS are you talking about.

Im just as shocked as you are that the sentence confused you.

Is this a game show. If I guess the number correct what prize do I get?

There's no confustion on -my- part,
FY2008, total entitlement speniding was $1788.1B
FY2009, total entitlement spending was $2288.7B - an incease of $500B
For comparison, thats 76% of total defense spending FY2009 and more than the current total cost of the war in Iraq -- and that's just the INCREASE in entitlement spending in the Obama's FIRST year.'
Historical Budget Data

What is it about liberals that makes them refuse to accept verifiable data but instead prefer the opinions of leftwing websites? guess liberals have no pride in themselves as they have no problem being wrong. They just ignore the answer and move on to another subject. I swear it is a cult.

Whos budget was in place in FY2009

It isn't a game show and no one has to guess at the cost. It is there for all to see but then most liberals don't want to confront the issue and prefer instead to buy what they are told from leftwing sites. Once the number is posted I will show how ridiculous their argument is. Liberals want to blame deficits on tax cuts meaning that tax cuts are an expense to the govt. which is total bs.

President Bush's, TARP wasn't in the budget nor was the Stimulus, GM/Chrysler takeover so what is your point? What prevented Barack Obama from cutting the Bush budget or using TARP payback to reduce the deficit?

Man you sure do throw insults around.

For your information the FY2009 budget was three months in during President Obamas presidency.

Whats funny is your compairing President Bush's last to years in office

No matter what number somone comes up with you will disagree and call them names.

So now you think TARP Stimulus and the bail out are entitelemts.

I answered that so why don't you respond to what I posted. For someone that claims to be a Libertarian you sure love bigger govt, higher taxes, and a President that didn't cut the Bush budgets.

TARP wasn't in the 2009 budget, neither was the Stimulus Plan or the GM/Chrysler buy out or the cash for clunkers or much of the Obama increase in spending. TARP was mostly paid back so what did Obama do with the money?

NO, NO IT'S NOT SO. No way anyone could be worse than Bush. It is amazing that someone could imagine such a thing after all that happened with the Surplus Money, Two Wars, Billions wasted on his so called Desert Storm in Iraq and almost 10 years after Osama Ben is still on the loose, after all he did promise the world that he would smoke him out of the cave. no?
He is also responsible for the current Economic Melt-Down and the Bail-Out Money to the Banks and Wall Street etc. etc. Need I say more, he has a lot of International Debt and Innocent People Blood on his greedy hands!!! This is just a small part of the Mess Bush left behind him in D.C.
All this and more was waiting in the Oval Office for Obama to clean up in Lighting Speed Time... NOW, the People who are blind or refuse to see the facts are trying to shift the blame to the shoulders of President Obama... This is totally unjust and wrong and I believe Obama is truly trying to get the U.S.A. back on track and to a Better Place For All Americans and not just the 2% that Bush and Cheney took care of...
Yes, Obama is a much better President than Bush and has done more for the Country in less than 2 Years than Bush did in 8 Years !!!!
Now, some People will say it ain't so, But Smart People they Know !!!!

You missed the point. I'll try to simplify.
The Obama ran on the platform of "I will fix what GWB did wrong".
Since elected, he's done all of those things that GWB did, just to a far worse degree.
So... if you believe that GWB, because of the things he did wrong, was a crappy Preasident, must conclude that The Obama, who was worse at all those things, is a worse President that GWB.

Certainly Not, and I say Obama is far better than Bush in every sense of the word...
No Way can anybody be worse than Bush.
That is why it is all but impossible to fix the Economy melt-down. He made sure he spent all the surplus that was left by Clinton. Yes, The U.S.A. was on a good path before Bush showed up in the Oval Office with Cheney and his Crooked Oil Gang. They
bought the Election and had the Supreme Court Backing them up. Then they cooked up a reason to make an Invasion into Iraq to rob and steal the people of their great Oil fields and Reserves...
Now here we are Almost Ten Years Later with Two Wars on going and Billions of dollors being wasted, Osama Ben still hiding out in the caves that Bush promised to smoke him out of...etc. etc. need I say more ???
Then just like a Real Coward Bush left D.C. leaving this mess for Obama to clean up... Bush should be on trial for War Crimes and the World Economic Crisis as well is his fault. All this and more happened on his Watch and not the watch of Obama ...
Bush and his Croonies have a lot of Blood of Innocent People on their Hands. No matter how you look at it... enough said...
Now, People who are blind to what went down are shifting the Blame to the shoulders of President Obama!!! But I Say No Joe, It Aint So !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Certainly. Start here:

So now you think TARP Stimulus and the bail out are entitelemts.

Nope, but both were part of the deficit and the question is why wasn't the TARP repayment used to lower the deficit? Obama blamed Bush for inheriting a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit and amazingly Bush did that in 4 months. Make sense to you?

Oh I dont like President Obama's Spend Spend Spend any more than I did President Bush's. I just dont understand how you can be so upset about President Obama and defend President Bush at the same time. If I had my way we would not have a Republican or Democrat in office. I vote Libertarian.

LOL, a Jon Stewart fan and you pass that off as fact? That is funny and ignores non partisan verifiable facts from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and Bureau of Labor Statistics. Wouldn't want to confuse you with facts so carry on making a fool of yourself. You have been fed a lot of misinformation and you bought it. Doesn't give you a lot of credibility.

The thread topic is Was Bush better President than Obama. Obviously the actual results benefit Bush. No Libertarian would ever select Obama over Bush given only those two choices.

I dont want anyone spending my money like this. So no, it does not make sense.
