It's Official Jon Stewart & Colbert will host a rally on October 30th in DC

Colbert's actions on The Hill served to illustrate and underscore how far gone the left is... and it probably doesn't register much with most leftists in the nation... but is sure does with the right.

This was epic... for all the wrong reasons.

Yes, many people think Colbert should not have been there while in character, if at all.

http://www.debatepolitics.com/break...-workers-testimony-fails-amuse-lawmakers.html

Their little get together two days before the election... just became more of an irritant, only adds fuel to the fire of those fed up with how this country is being degraded by the leftists.

Bring... it... on... Colbert and Liebowitz (aka Stewart)... and thank you very much for the get out the vote rally for those sick of the elites in DC.

.

I'm curious to know your reasoning for using Stewart's less commonly used name. Do you call Sting "Gordon Sumner"? Or Bob Dylan "Robert Zimmerman"?

I'd also like to hear why people feel the need to call Obama "Barrack Hussein Obama" in casual conversations. Do they call Bush "George Walker Bush" in casual conversations? Or how about calling Reagan "Ronald Wilson Reagan"?

I have to admit people's use of Obama's full name, or your use of Stewart's technical name, in a conversation where it is unnecessary suggests to me a more mischievous intent. But I'll wait for a rebuttal.

Who is saying he changed it legally or didn't change it legally? The point was....that's his real name.

Okay, but if you use it nobody will know who you are talking about. What difference does it make that that's his real name?

There are a lot of people wondering if this rally will create a riot. Glen Beck's rally went fairly peacefully, but a much different crowd is anticipated for this rally. We will see.

The only rioting that will be going on is riotous laughter. A riot? Paaa.leeezzzz!

It's not during the rally that anyone is worried about. It is what happens after the riot. If people get fired up and emotional, it could get ugly. Not to mention if the rally is met with opposing views.

Fired up and emotional. At a rally whose motto is "America, tone it down a notch?" Too funny.

I think he is talking about Colbert's counter rally, The Fear Rally.

Do you think there might be some tea party infilitrators posing as sane people?

If anything nefarious happens it will be due to ignorant folk who dislike folks who like Stewart and Colbert. But I see no need to even bring this up like some here are doing as if it is already a given. It is really unthinkable to me. The type of folks who will be attending in earnest are not the violent type.

To be honest I'm sort of worried about college students, or really anyone, showing up under the influence of some intoxicant and causing trouble. Especially drunk people. I know how college students get... I was one for 5 years until recently.

As a college student I am going to disagree with you for a bit. I see this being on the day before Halloween, and most likely Halloween party night, as a time when kids will pregame show up in costume and just start partying a bit earlier. So you know show up a little buzzed and have some fun and then go out later that night and get trashed. Even though it SUCKS to drink in DC.

"Rally to restore Sanity?"
They're campaigning for convervatives?
Who would have guessed?

the truly insane are oblivious to their insanity.

A bunch of college-aged kids in a giant group with an audience (the people there AND video cameras) on Halloween Eve and they're just going to sit in their lawn chair and be good? :lamo

I bet the mall looks like crap when they leave.

The true measure of a cause and the validity of the purpose of a rally: how the lawn looks after their gathering is over.

Of course not. I was just commenting on how crappy the lawn will look from all the lazy people throwing their trash on the ground.

I think the event will just be a circus .... making fun of our country and its citizens in the midst of the giants who made this country great. Making fun of an event (Restoring Honor) that was nothing but inspirational singing, great speakers and honoring those who do good things in our country. Making fun of that won't resonate with the majority of the people in America. I think most people will find it stupid and maybe even disrespectful.

Wow. It's amazing that this is the conclusion you've reached, with next to nothing in the way of information.

It is funnier because when Beck rally was going on she was doing the opposite.

That's pretty much what I remembered as well.

I'm jealous. My best friend will be there. :(

I've learned from this board that it's just going to be a laugh fest and it's obviously a parody of the Restoring Honor Rally. So...what do I have wrong?

And, gee, I remember you and others here doing that with Glenn's Rally when you had no clue what was going to happen. :)

I maybe going if enough of my friends are willing to come down as well. I don't want my last Halloween in college to be without them.
