It's Official Jon Stewart & Colbert will host a rally on October 30th in DC

To me, not really. The pay off to being informed was to be seen more through a bit from Robin Williams or Dennis Miller.

it's true with them to be sure, but also with Stewart. I really can't see you getting all the satarie if you're not informed.

Mostly because the Daily Show gives you a large portion of the feed with frequent interruptions, whereas Robin Williams and Dennis Miller (especially Miller) make very coy references to what they are getting at.

Oh yes! Just do it.

Bring out the Stars of Sanity too... ROTFLMFAO... Pelosi, Reid, Gore, Durbin, Rangel, Waters, Kucinich, Conyers, Frank, Harkin, Waxman... Team Wrecking Ball...

Rally to Restore Sanity... ROTFLOL...

.

See, that's what this rally is about. Calm down, sweetpea. Nothing you've said is all that funny.

I think it's great that they're having their own rally. More power to them.

Really? Does this then counteract all the whining you've been doing about how they're just gonna make fun of teabaggers, etc?

OK, but only if they can debate real policy (not just sound bites) with all the other right wingers.... Beck, O'Reilly, Sarah, Hannity, Krauthammer, etc.

ricksfolly

Dude, your mouth to God's ear. I would LOVE to see that.

I *hope* they make fun of all the silly gods. It'll make it that much more entertaining.

Damnit! You mean I have to choose which rally to go to? Well that sucks.

I think I'm just going to bounce back and forth between the two. lol

Take pictures!!!!

I'll just be sitting here, being jealous.

Almost 100,000 on Face Book say they will be attending. But Stewart's permit is only for 25,000...
Only 1/4 of the people that actually RSVP "yes" to a Facebook event ever show up anyway, so he should be fine.

I will, with my iphone and post them to facebook.

IF I get to go. The only hitch in my plans is the possibility of going to a Ren Faire that same weekend. But I'm going to try and work it out to do that another weekend.

ROTFLOL... Palin 52% Obama 40%

Rasmussen: ‘52 percent of voters say their views are more like Palin’s than Obama’s’

I don’t know if this poll is an endorsement of Palin or a harsh judgment on the President, but either way it’s not good for the White House:

Fifty-two percent (52%) of Likely U.S. Voters say their own views are closer to Sarah Palin’s than they are to President Obama’s, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Just 40% say their views are closer to the president’s than to those of the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate.

Among the Political Class, however, 68% say their views are more like Obama’s, while 63% of Mainstream voters describe their views as more like Palin’s.

Read more at the San Francisco Examiner: Rasmussen:

ROTFLOL...

And as we know, there are far more Mainstream voters. :)

This is why I want these guys to have their rally... and I hope it's a humdinger... like the Paul Wellstone memorial.

I heard they chose this as their theme song for the day... aka... Requiem to the Democrat Party.

Palin has values

Well I thought she was a whore to the Tea Party.

I disagree. I believe Palin has a moral character, its just different from mine or yours. In reality, all three of us are moral people, but we may disagree on what constitutes a moral person.

Jon Stewart laments the fact that the country has stopped focusing on matters of real importance and now only pays attention to stupid issues. Therefore, in order to fix that, he and another comedian decide to hold rallies that focus on stupid issues instead of matters of real importance.

Yea, he's not just doing this for publicity or anything.

In justifying the need for this rally Stewart put a heavy emphasis on Code Pink and similar groups/rallies. This isn't an anti-teaparty rally, this is an anti-over the top statements rally.

link. .......

The great thing about it is that it purports itself to be entirely for publicity satirically.
If its anything as good as Colbert's whitehouse dinner it'd be worth seeing for comedy and political commentary.

My point is really that it's just a stupid publicity stunt, yet it was the top story on google news for about 24 hours. That's sort of ironic given the rationale Stewart has offered for holding this rally.

He's sick of the news covering stupid ****, so he pushes a story about stupid **** into the news.

nah there won't be any loons at this place. I hope some idiot goes there and films all the loons some of you will look even more idiotic with your teaparty mouth foaming than you do already.

But its the opposite because he will be rational and sane and it will be reflected in his speech in a comedic manner. I quiver with anticipation! :p

Just as there are 9/12 rallies and tea parties all over the nation on certain days. Copycats. :)
Ooo, does Saul Alinsky ring a bell?

I think it's highly silly to parody the Restoring Honor Rally. It was fabulous. What are they going to do? Make fun of God? The Cardinals? The military man who had a bomb go off in his hand? Black people? Gospel singers?
And who doesn't believe that Glenn Beck wasn't trying to parody MLK? Puulease. Although, I must say, the Mormons are pretty pissed off that Beck was evangelizing protestant theology instead of LDS doctrine at his rally and even had an evangelical minister sitting behind him coaching him. Ooops, bad call brother Beck. That phoney crackpot will do with anything to get the gullible to vote against their best interests. Bet he gets paid big bucks by the Koch's to do it, too.

I don't think they understand what effect this will have a couple days before the election. No idea at all.
They don't grasp the level of anger directed at the occupant in the WH and his pets on The Hill.
I'm absolutely thrilled they're doing this.

As for Palin having morals; you just have to look at Trig and their decision to see how deep they run.

I am curious YStar, what morals is she lacking in your view?

Ugh Moot... how are the people voting against their best interests? Less government is against their interests? Lower taxes? Less federal spending? Getting rid of the tax and cap crowd? Passing unread entitlement bills? Please... tell me.
