If the Rich and Wall street Fat Cats would pay their taxes, then you Mr or Mrs Sheeples WOULD HAVE NO REASON for complaining ... You are the one who should move over and let the system work, like it was meant to work.... Get rid of greed, fraud and cheating on every level and you will see how fast the Economy would bounce back for the better, for one and for all . It is called the trickle-down effect !!!

they do pay their taxes, read a freaking book for christ's sake. those evil, greedy rich bastards pay more $$ in taxes than all of the poor and middle class people combined.

we are headed towards an aristocracy, and that scares me a little. (or a lot) the gap continues to widen, and the middle class continues to shrink. those are facts, and not what our country is about. our progressive income tax works, and it should stay progressive. in fact, taxes should be raised on the wealthy, and they should also have their SS tax limit raised. i don't think all wealthy people are greedy and evil, either, but the fact is we need the revenues, and the last tax cuts did not pay for themselves as promised.

and truth be told, if a person makes a million a year, he's not going to miss 10k. he's not going to spend less.

problem is, if a person makes a million a year he is already paying well over 10k. what the "tax the rich" crowd always fails to consider is this. If you continue to raise taxes on the wealthy, eventually they will say "**** it" and move somewhere else. they have the resources to do so. and then where does that leave us?? who are you going to tax then?

why is it always "we need to increase revenue"???? whatever happen to "we need to spend less"????

Congress is hooked on tax revenue. They will never spend less.
That you can take to your bank, if you are dumb enough to trust your bank...:2razz:

Move somewhere else? where they gonna go? Here in the USA they have easy pickings, where else can they get that kind of action? Yeah, they may take home a little less, but they ain't about to move anywhere else...

Panama is my best guess.

probably right, they will bitch and moan and then bend over and take it up the arse, just like the rest of us.

i think it's pretty funny that people think the ****ing mess bush left behind could be fixed in 2 years. oh well.

Obama volunteered for it. He knew what he was doing, so whining about it is... childish.

we need both....and no, people won't move. they didn't before, and they wouldn't now.

nobody likes taxes, but everybody likes the services they provide.

unfortunately the problem is we never get both. we always get the bait and switch "if you pay more we will spend less and pay down the debt" but it always seems like there is some new entitlement program or bailout to throw money away on once we get hit with the increase.

Oh but we can hope, oh yes we can...we can hope.

hope against hope - to persist in hoping for something against the odds.
Obma's policies have been
a failure and all the hope in the world isn't going to change that.
How 'bout we forget about hope and actually DO something?
Something that will do away with all the uncertainty for businesses, large and small.

I don't like many of the services they provide and don't qualifiy for many of them but i still get fleeced to pay for some lazy POS's welfare, food stamps and medicaid.

not to mention all the federally funded research grants into how cow farts affect global warming, etc

typical response. people without children aren't on welfare. my mother worked her entire life and is on medicaid and she's hardly a pos. it's not black and white, and i will never understand why people are so ****ing worried about what other people "get".

fact is, don't you qualify for many benefits that i pay for, (happily, i might add)?

Because somebody has to foot the bill for what other's "get".

that's true. but in all seriousness, i have no probelm with my tax dollars going to feed a child. or provide healthcare for that child. now, i might think welfare needs another overhaul, but in the meantime, i don't care that a welfare mother gets food stamps to feed her kids, or subsidized rent.

think about it...if we left everyone to their own devices, how much do you think crime would increase?

um...didn't clinton hold the line on spending?

Does anyone actually believe the bolded?

I don't know why, but I kinda do believe it. If I just read it and not heard him say it, I might be more skeptical. I think he is a thin skinned whiney baby who couldn't help himself. Poor me, I get treated like a dog.

I tend to agree with this. This is exactly the sort of thing he does when he goes off-prompter, which is part of the reason there's such a joke about TelePrompter-In-Chief.

"What? Why am I not being lauded and admired???"

one reason I worry about what other people get is because I am paying for it and they are not. the next time I buy groceries, why don't you pay for it since it is no big deal?

my mother worked her entire life and is on medicaid

don't you mean your mother is on medicare? there is a difference. medicare is for old and retired people, much like social security. medicAID is a hand out to poor people

like what? what benefits do I qualify for that you pay for that I don't also pay for? the only benefit I can think of that I qualify for that you don't would be the GI Bill and I spent 3 years in the desert eating ****ty food and being shot at to EARN that entitlement.
