Acid Attack victim could hear her skin sizzling

I'm fairly certain that Bush's tax cuts for the rich aren't even remotely associated with the topic at hand. Take it elsewhere.

I agree with you!!!!

You know threads like this disgust me. They sadden me.

When I read the OP, all I thought was a person was attacked by another person. I didn't give a flying **** what color the victims skin was, or the alleged perpetrator's. But yet others immediately jumped on the racist and "hate crime" bull**** bandwagon. Immediately it's all about race.

Sickening.

When the woman was found to be a liar, again it's all about race. Not about a ****ed in the head woman who harmed herself and blamed a non-existent attacker. But about race. AGAIN. Accusations, innuendo, jumping to random conclusions. Everyone throwing their two cents in to try and make the situation give credence to their own beliefs about the world. Twisting things around, making wild leaps and leveraging hypothetical situations.

Really?

As long as race baiters on ALL sides continue to do this, continue to see race issues in every ****ing goddamn thing that happens, then race will ALWAYS be an issue. And it's disgusting. It's more disgusting, IMO, than what that lying wench of a woman did. At least she didn't hurt anyone but herself. But you guys... you guys hurt everyone, IMO, when you partake in this kind of race baiting behavior.

the racebaiters would have us all believe that she harmed black people everywhere.

Which orifice did you pull that one out?

are you serious or just being obtuse? haven't you read/seen all the rantings about how she should be charged with a "hate crime" and sent to prison for a long time? not in this thread specifically but in the MSM.

No, show me where your statement, "the racebaiters would have us all believe that she harmed black people everywhere" is true.

yeah things were just peachy under Jimmy Carter.

No...things weren't great under Carter. But it wasn't Carter's policies that resulted in the outsourcing of American jobs. It was Reagan/Bush...and we will be paying the price of the long lasting effects of their policies for years, unless and until someone reverses the course and returns this nation's policies to what they were before Reagan/Bush deregulated the industries, bought into the belief that corporations would monitor themselves, and cut taxes for the top 1% in half.

if an ugly white woman did the same thing to an attractive black woman you don't think Reverend Al et al would claim it was racist?

using the al sharpton playbook for racial indignation

how is that working out for ya

Moderator's Warning:
This thread is about the woman who lied about having acid thrown in her face... NOT about taxes. Get back to the topic.

I'm interested in hearing any theories, from the "race has nothing to do with anything" contingent, as to why Bethany Storro chose to describe her attacker as an African American.
The rest of her description was rather vague: slicked back hair, ponytail, athletic build, other than that, can't really recall what she looked like (this vagueness is reflected in the initial police sketch).
But she was very emphatic on one point: the attacker was black.

Why?
Do you suppose Jesus told her to say that?

As has been mentioned, there are few blacks in the community.
She had to know it would make things hard on them.

She had to give some race, it's a damn description for crying out loud. If she said latino, would you think she was racist against latinos? If she said Asian, would you think she had something against Asians? If she said white, would you think she had some kind of "white guilt" bull**** going on, trying to demonize her own race? She had to give SOME race. Maybe, just ****ing maybe, that's all there was to it.

Because blacks commit most of the violent crimes in America? Or, maybe she's just a wack job. Who the hell knows.

my vote is whack job.

funny that no one ever called tawana brawley a racist after she falsely accused 6 white guys of attacking her.

This thread was started with this line
wonder if this will be reported as a racist hate crime which it appears to be
. This whole story had a "fishy" smell to it from the start. It just didn't add up but immediately it was a neocon who jumped in calling it a race hate crime. It was no different than that bizarre case of the woman who carved a backwards "B" on her face and blamed it on a black man.
Hook , line, and sinker

I sarcastically came back and said it was indeed a racist hate crime. Another white person trying to ignite hatred toward blacks.
From there it went on with complaints about race carding.

This thread was a race baiting thread.

I'm pissed that she did it to herself and milked attention and pity.
I'm pissed I believed her.

But I don't think it's wrong to consider whether something was race-based. . .race-based attacks and actions are a hate crime and really speak for motive which affects the rulings on the case. They consider this when investigating because they're open to all avenues of speculation when doing detective work - so why is it unacceptable for others to do the same thing the police do?

So for the sake of attention we now have a woman with B on her cheek and this woman with a ****ed up face.
They should get together.

How about Susan Smith, who drowned her two small children by deliberately rolling her car into a lake with them in it, then blamed it on a black "carjacker".
Many black people had their lives brutally disrupted by the investigation that followed, while Smith sat back smirking and accepting sympathy and accolades for being such a brave hero.
The racial tensions caused by the case, which took place in South Carolina, lasted for years.

This is not a "new' idea.
Any time a white woman wants to get away with a crime, she pretty much knows that all she has to do it blame blacks.
It's sickening.

yes, this was a racist crime ... but not in the way the OP imagined (hoped?)

what I have no use for is the double standard. we heard for years about the lynching-truck murder of James Byrd by racist rednecks. NAACP and other leftwing groups claimed that a Vote for Bush was a vote for another Black man beng murdered even though Governor Bush signed death warrants on the two who didn't plead out in that case. Yet when equally horrific crimes perpetrated by blacks on whites take place, the media is silent and you don't heare "white leaders" screaming racism like we did from Jackass and ScumTon did with Byrd and Brawley.

btw the KLAN, AWR, skinheads and other white losers killed less people in 50 years than Black gangs kill in several of our biggest cities in a year or two's time.

I didn't hope for anything other than some equal treatment.

do you know what is interesting? whites who are bigots rarely confine their bigotry to just blacks. They tend to bash Latinos, Asians and Jews as much as blacks. Yet you never hear of white racist bigots trying to frame Japansese or Jewish people. Why? because the crime rate of Asian-Americans and Jewish-Americans of the violent street type is very very low. If a white killed her own c hildren and claimed some Rabbinical students in Yarmulkes car jacked her people would immediately scream BULL POOP. The reason why blacks are blamed is sadly because much street crime against whites is perpetrated by blacks,

I can relate to how scary that sound is.

When I was doing welding, I learned to wear earplugs after a piece of slag flew up and landed in my ear canal. There is NOTHING you can do short of pouring water in your ear to stop the sound and the sensation is.... indescribable.

Arc welding can be even worse, especially when the flash burns your eye.

Why didn't she just say white then? If she had to say 'some' race then why not her own? You'd have to be a complete lunatic to believe that she simply picked black because it was there and not because you are more likely to get sympathy from people if you blame it on say a big bad black person than if you blame it on some unidentifiable white guy. The same goes for cases like the black hooker who blames those white kids from Duke. It wasn't simply because they happened to be there and just happened to be white. The reason for blaming an attack on somebody of another color is the sympathy it garners. And please learn what white guilt means? Your use of it is embarrassing. Here are some examples of what I'm talking about:

http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/scottsboro/scottsb.htm

No crime in American history-- let alone a crime that never occurred-- produced as many trials, convictions, reversals, and retrials as did an alleged gang rape of two white girls by nine black teenagers on a Southern Railroad freight run on March 25, 1931. Over the course of the two decades that followed, the struggle for justice of the "Scottsboro Boys," as the black teens were called, made celebrities out of anonymities, launched and ended careers, wasted lives, produced heroes, opened southern juries to blacks, exacerbated sectional strife, and divided America's political left.

"She also indicated she was sexually assaulted as well. She indicated that when he had her on the ground he put his hand up her blouse and started fondling her. But other than that, she says she doesn't remember anything else. So we're adding a sexual assault to this as well," Richard said.

Police said they gave a polygraph test to Todd, but they didn't release the results. During a follow-up interview, Todd came clean.

"Miss Todd stated she made up the story, which snowballed and got out of control. Miss Todd stated she was not robbed and there was no 6-foot-4 black male attacker," Richard said.

BELLEVIEW - An 11-year-old girl may be charged with making a false report about being abducted by a man and raped, according to authorities.

Thursday, the girl told Belleview Police Department officials that a black man kidnapped her at knife and gunpoint from her Southeast 54th Avenue neighborhood and took her to a wooded area behind the Publix Supermarket off U.S. 441, where she was raped.

Police say the neighborhood was on edge while they investigating the alleged incident.

I'm not saying that every case of false accusation where multiple races are involved means that the person's sole motivation is driven by racism but it's ridiculous to think that they simply picked another race 'because it was there'. You never hear about a skinny Asian kid being falsely accused of having raped somebody.

I disagree, she's obviously sick and putting her in prison won't help her.

Oh please.
Enough with the "she's sick/mentally ill".
Give me a bloody break with the "she needs help". She bought sunglasses beforehand to protect her eyes and then blames it on an imaginary black woman and kept up appearances. She knew exactly what she was doing and her comment that it "got bigger than she expected" does not bode well. She has no ****ing remorse for what she did, hope she gets what she deserves in jail.

What I find disturbing is how everyone automatically believed that a "black woman" did this even tho a witness (If I remember correctly) saw her alone and the area she lives in has a tiny Black population, to the point where there is no way that Black person couldn't have been identified.

****.
You'd think US would know different by now but no, just blame a black person for another persons crime. Because Black women/men are the only criminals in US right?

This just reminds me of Bonnie Sweeten case :/

the story when it broke was a teaching moment. You didn't have leaders of white groups on tv screaming about black racism

Uhh YOU were more than happy to scream about black racism in your original post. You're upset because well-known white people were unwilling to jump to conclusions and make fools of themselves like you did?

Well - It's just *that* unbelievable that someone would do this *to theirself*

That's always harder for me to jump to the conclusion of - and when I have thought of that, I've been very wrong.
