Report: US warships stationed off Iranian coast

A war with Iran would be a mistake.
However true that might be, The Obama isn't clever enough to devise an effective altrenative.

But I think that if Obama saw the immediate threat of Iran getting and using nukes, he would not think twice about giving the go ahead to attack them.
There's nothing in any of His past actions to suggest this.

He was willing to give the go ahead for snipers to take out the pirates on a very risky shot with someones life in the balance, he has been willing to strike at targets in Pakistan even though Pakistan itself is not very happy about that, he has the willingness and has shown it to take military action when it is called for.

Because these things are comparable. Not.

We're not talking about 'military action', we're talking about going to war with a regional power that has the capacity to cause tremendous harm - you were the one telling us how bad going to war with Iran would be, lest you forget.

These were military actions that would have lead to a big backlash if something went wrong, they are very much comparable. What I was saying earlier about it being dangerous is that going to war with Iran is not something you should do without good reason, something Obama is smart enough to know. He won't go to war with Iran unless the risk they pose is great enough to justify the aftermath of such a war.

Really.
Please compare and contrast the "fallout" from a bad call on a sniper engaging pirates in a lifeboat to the 'fallout" from a bad call in going to war with Iran.

I remind you - you were the one telling us how bad going to war with Iran would be.

His drone strikes into friendly countries is more of an example. Pissing these allies off could cause us to lose big friends, and gain powerful enemies, including a country with nukes in its possession.

Tell us one situation that shows that he wouldn't be able to make the call.

The strike on Iran may be close. Iran cannot be allowed to become a nuclear power, but we must be prepared to deal with the consequences of doing this, as the Straits of Hormuz most likely will be shut down, thus stopping the vast majority of Middle Eastern oil from getting to market.

Despite the perils of an attack on Iran, I say do it. We must be prepared to suffer a little hardship if we are going to do what needs to be done. I can accept gas rationing.

Article is here.

I stand ready to deploy, engage and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in Close combat.
