CBS Features NY Mayor Bloomberg Speculating Bomber Was Mad About ObamaCare

With Katie Couric drawing him out, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg agreed the Times Square car bombing was likely “homegrown” as he proceeded, in an interview excerpt run on Monday's CBS Evening News, to speculate it could have been placed by “somebody with a political agenda who doesn't like the health care bill or something. It could be anything.”

Could be “anything,” but the first thing Bloomberg thinks of are those who don't like ObamaCare, presumably conservatives or Tea Party activists.

I guess there are several left wingers like this asshole Bloomberg who are sad panda today because it wasn't one of us Tea Party folk.

Demonizing us with slanderous nonsense won't help your cause... Sorry...

I can believe this, their partisan hatred and ignorance vomits out garbage like that. What are they going to say when the truth shows? The Pakistani Taliban has already taken credit, so why do they immediately say it was a Tea Partier? How do they know it wasn't like a Weather Underground type bombing (ex. Bill Ayers). Seriously, the media and commentary like this just makes me ill, their ignorant hatred is a poison to America. Yeah it infuriates me to read this, but maybe it's good because their glory is in display in front of all of America. What are they going to say when they find out it was an Islamic extremist? They get all PC about stating an Islamic terrorist perpetrated an attack, but they jump the gun and almost claim with truth that they believe it was a right-wing Tea Party Protester. Disgusting, simply disgusting.

So not only have we been slandered and called racists and homophobes, but get accused of being terrorists as well...

So much for that tolerant left.

So much for them being rational and intelligent too. How ignorant do you have to say that a Tea Partier did this when all the facts point to an Islamic terrorist? Or how stupid do you have to be to say it was a right-wing Tea Partier when the Pakistani Taliban takes credit? It would be like a doctor finding a tumor in your lung and diagnosing you with diabetes. This only shows their (literally) blind hatred, intolerance, and sheer ignorance.

Edit: As of breaking news just now, Pakistani authorities said that they have arrested a man in Karachi that is connected to the NYC Time Square bombing attempt.

Why would someone against Obamacare (whatever that even is) want to blow up people in Times Square? What exactly does that accomplish and/or what message does it send? That "theory" makes very little sense.

Although killing the infidels makes little sense to me, it makes total sense given the views of the Islamists. Why tea partiers would want to kill innocent people in Times Square (or anywhere) escapes me.

It wasn't one of the tea party guys?
I didn't know they solved the whole case yet.
Many of them seem to hate the U.S.A. so be careful around those wacko tea party guys.

The suspect just spent 5 months in Pakistan. The tea party movement may be growing, but I don't think it's made inroads into Pakistan at this point.

And I don't think too many people in the movement "hate America". They may hate certain things, but don't we all? And I've never known the movement to be violent in the least.

There is only one rational explanation for this. 4 out of their 5 brain cells immediately send impulses that say "Blame it one the Tea Party/conservatives!" While the 5th brain cell impulses saying "Bushdidit." They chose to listen to the 4 brain cells and will use the 5th as a backup. The rational cell sadly committed suicide, he couldn't take living in that environment anymore.

That was an intemperate comment on his part. I'm sure it played well in NYC though.

I don't like when public officials jump to conclusions before facts come out.

And even it were a tea partier (and it looks like it's not) that would not imply there is something inherent in tea party rhetoric or beliefs that incites people to violence. It would just mean the tea partiers have a nutball in their midst. But who doesn't?

Yes, it's the tea party that's full of "Wackos". :lamo

Do the orderlies know you are on the interwebs this early? :lamo

I don't like when public officials jump to conclusions before facts come out.
Their gamble! They either come out looking like a genius or like Bloomberg.

Jesus what is it with people and jumping to conclusions about this thing.

That said seriously Mayor Bloomberg Time Square because of the Health Care reform. What a stupid freaking comment and he will now get nailed to the wall for it.

It was highly irresponsible to say what he said. It's okay for us to mouth off anonymously on the internet, but public officials should have more sense...

Kind of like how conservatives started up BS theories about environmental whackos blowing up the oil rig in the gulf without a shred of evidence?

It works both ways.

Really? I never heard that? Can you link to a Republican speculating that? Thanks

Mind you, I never said that a Republican said this, I said that a conservative said this. But with that, Rush is about as big of a Republican you have, lol.

"Sabotage!" Right-wing media respond to oil spill by dreaming up conspiracy theories | Media Matters for America

Limbaugh: "Environmental whackos" may have blown up oil rig to "head off more oil drilling." On his April 29 radio show, Rush Limbaugh questioned "the timing" of the explosion and said: "Lest we forget ... the cap and trade bill was strongly criticized by hardcore environmentalist whackos because it supposedly allowed more offshore drilling and nuclear plants." Limbaugh added: "[W]hat better way to head off more oil drilling and nuclear plants then by blowing up a rig? I'm just, I'm just noting the timing here."

Bolling falsely claimed it was "nine days before" the leak "was even addressed" and asked, "Did they let this thing leak? ... if they're going to try and pull drilling, that may be the way they do it." On the same broadcast of Fox & Friends, Fox Business Network host Eric Bolling said: "The question is ... why the delay in the response? You guys were pointing out, nine days before it was even addressed, 12 days before he made a formal comment. The question is, did they let this thing leak? I mean, BP said maybe a thousand barrels a day, it went to five thousand. Did they let it leak a little bit and say, boy I don't know. The conspiracy theorists would say, 'maybe they'd let it leak for a while, and then they addressed the issue.'" Bolling added: "That would be a humongous accusation and probably the net result would be no different, but if they're going to try and pull drilling, that may be the way they do it."

That is why I don't listen to Rush or watch Fox News anymore. It usually takes about 3 minutes before something too stupid to believe gets uttered. God, what a bunch of total morons.

I sometimes listen to Rush, like right after Obama was elected, just for the entertainment value.

I like some liberal radio shows too, like Stephanie Miller in the morning, but she has the douche co-host that tries to bring up 9/11 conspiracies every once in a while. Gets tiresome very fast, especially when someone calls in to prove he's wrong and he just talks right over them. But she's pretty damn funny.

hmm. these are elected officials? eitherway, my bet, is that rush was being his usual baiting antagonistist hyperbolic self.

I never said elected officials.

All in all I still don't think that what Bloomberg said is that defamatory. Stupid? yes. Should everyone be so outraged over it? No. He was just suggesting ideas, its not like he acted like theres alot of teapartiers out there that would do this or that he was certain it was one. He even followed it up with "it could be anything" just to let everyone know that they really didn't have any idea at that point.

To me it seems like another faux outrage thread.

I started tuning out the second he said anything stupid. Takes 3 minutes on average. So I stopped listening. No point.

It's a hallmark of all talk radio to put the caller on mute and yell or simply yell over the top of them. Particularly when they are making a valid point.
