Arizona bill targets 'human-animal hybrids'

So you are for states that make up laws against Human animal Hybrids which any biologist will tell you is not biologically possible. Got it thanks.

Not true. We share over 99% of our DNA with chimpanzees. Of course human-animal hybrids are possible. In fact, plenty of human-animal hybrids have evolved NATURALLY. How about "Lucy," the Australopithecus?

Since humans ARE animals and since we share a common ancestor with every other animal, of course human-animal hybrids are possible.

I see nothing with preemptive laws. Why should we wait until something messed up happens before acting?

A birther law,

Nothing wrong with that law, unless you are against extra measures to make sure the person running for president is qualified.Sure it won't stop the birther-tards but at the same these laws will make the birther-tards look like bigger conspiracy nuts.

the illegal immigration law,

Nothing wrong with that law, more states should enact similar laws.

a law banning teachers with thick accents,

So you want kids to not be able to learn because they can't understand what the hell their teacher is saying?

and now we're progressing into the "legislate against comic book villains" stage.

The bill isn't about comic book villains but the dangers that exist when you cross breed different species. there could be allergies , diseases, and all kinds of other negative things that can result with cross breeding on a genetic level.

Not to mention the personal happiness of the human-animal hybrid in question. I would imagine that would be a terribly lonely existence.

I think it's wise that they are targeting human-animal hybrid creation. It's unethical and it may be possible in the near future. I am also opposed to research involving therapeutic cloning for the same reason.

I can certainly understand being against reproductive cloning, but why therapeutic cloning? When we're able to clone our organs and grow them from scratch in a laboratory, we'll be able to save thousands (if not millions) of lives each year. IMO it would be immoral *not* to pursue therapeutic cloning.

There is a dark side to therapeutic cloning that doesn't get discussed much. The hypothesized process they are wanting to use to clone organs is very unethical. They plan on fertilizing an egg and chemically altering it or genetically induce it to differentiate into whatever organ they want. Essentially they are trying to make a fertilized human embryo turn into an organ in a laboratory. The problem is that if they fail the embryo will most likely die (similar to abortion), and if they succeed, then that means a human life was forced to turn into an organ. I am for therapeutic cloning, but not through the use of human embryos. I would much rather support taking somatic cells and finding a way to differentiate them into stem cells that will then grow into organs. The current hypothesized mechanism is very unethical in my opinion.

I imagine that there are a lot of people with fetishes for that kind of stuff,so that individual would not have a lonely existence(just not in a relationship with a normal person).
