The freakin DRIVERS were drinking beer??? Are these people all alcoholics?

Hundreds of Carlsberg workers have gone on strike for a second day after a 'beer ban' was imposed by bosses.
Up to 800 employees walked out of the firm's Copenhagen factory in protest over its decision to allow drinking only at lunchtime.

Jens Bekke, a spokesman for Carlsberg, the world's fourth-biggest brewer, said: 'There has been free beer, water and soft drinks everywhere. Yesterday, beers were removed from all refrigerators.

He said drivers and warehouse workers were particularly upset because they have lost the right to drink three beers a day outside lunch hours.

if there is one natural right, that is the right to drink beer, and if people infringe upon that right, they deserve to have their workers strike, POWER TO THE DRUNK PEOPLE!!!!

No they are not all alcoholics, far from it. It has been a tradition at danish workplaces that a beer or two were consumed during the day, especially on more traditional workplaces like builders and so on.

This tradition has been removed over the decades slowly, so that most work places have a ban on alcohol (as they should) during working hours. The only exception has been places like Carlsberg/Tuborg where the tradition is set it in stone... or was and goes back over a century.

The union in this profession is quite strong and traditionalist, and I believe that the 3 beer a day is part of the contract, so removing it is kinda breaking that contract heh.

But we shall see. Danes wont tolerate a beer supply problem, especially up to summer and the world cup.

I drink sometimes before I go to work. By the time I get to my workstation I start to feel the effect. I wouldn't recommend it for truck drivers though!

...But one or two beers won't hurt anything.
