Gallup poll put Democratic Party at 18-year low - MarketWatch 's Election Blog - MarketWatch

Huh - people don't like having major legislation rammed down their throats. Who would have thunk it? The Dems still have a way to go before they're in the Historic Repub range, but they're well below their previous low and are now tied with a party that had hit rock bottom just a few months ago.

With all the broken promises and politics-as-usual, independents aren't seeing the type of change they had envisioned:

"Polls" are not elections, they are snapshots of opinion on a given day. Cries of "throw the bums out" are common in most election cycles, what's far less common is it actually happening. Generic "I dislike this or that party" polls don't equal "I dislike my Senator or Representative" in most cases. History teaches us that most incumbents will likely return to office.

Just because people don't like Democrats doesn't mean people like Republicans.

If I were a major third party, I'd do EVERYTHING I could to get some air time on tv, youtube, and news outlets to provide alternatives to the Dems and GOP. This is probably the best time since the Civil War or the Bull Moose Party for a new political party to emerge and make a force of itself. The only way this can happen, though, is if they become vocal enough to get heard in today's politically charged climate before things calm down enough.

So what's the middle ground between the two parties that will get people all excited? What policies would make a third party popular?

One that deals with issues that directly affect us all, like the economy, jobs, dealing with terrorism, immigration, etc. with all the moral/social issues taking the back burner. We have never been able to successfully legislate morality, and we never will.
There are a lot of people out there who DON'T CARE who is boinking who as long as it is behind closed doors. Let the moral issues wait until Jesus returns and deals with them in his own way.....aka Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged....

State socialist arent much better than National Socialists.

Its called the season of summer with a combination of devaluation of the dollar.

My point, which you just blew right on past, is that high oil prices are not going to help the economy........ fuel has gone up an average of 5 cents a gallon per day last week.

Now think about the cost of shipping.

polls show maybe 5 seats going to the GOP

(in the Senate anyway)

I disagree I seen alot of polls and statistics that look quite dire for dems and maybe even some incumbents. I will find some of the articles put links on here for you thanks.
